So Germany attacks Poland, and England declares war against Germany in support of their alliance with Poland. Europe is now at war, and according to Hitler's threat, he is now justified in killing 11 million Jewish men, women, and children.

Ridiculous, the Brits hardly accomplished anything except getting a free pass at Dunkirk from Hitler, who liked the Brits more than was good for him (and the rest of Europe). Guys, I realize that many of you are of the opinion that condemning the denier-revisionists is the best course of action, but how many pages does it take to display that doing so just feeds their desire for lengthy chances to "prove" how they're really the "rational" minority with the "accurate but suppressed" version of events?

I'm not condemning all of the posters in the thread-- indeed, there have been many well-informed ones-- but the plain fact is that the denier rhetoric, much like the truther rhetoric, is based less on smoking-gun facts (though they demand it of the opposite side) and more about playing the polemic game of poking holes in accounts and claiming that the disparate holes prove their version of history (though they demand more than disparate information from their opposites). This isn't going to change any more than the radical creationists are going to change their dogmatic crusade to drive religion into science classrooms. You're not going to be able to semantically argue down someone who has dogmatically dug their heels in for a fight, and in fact giving them the fight they're poking for feeds their little flames.

I'm not suggesting against debating the issue (far from it), but on keeping focus on the larger issue of their denial of presented evidence as being valid and their ever-inflating conspiracy that becomes unsustainable by logical standards and quickly requires everyone who disagrees to be "in on it." That would likely be more fruitful (or, at least, useful).
