There's just no recovering from that steel beam test. I just hope not to end up with long term injuries from the laughter.
 
It does seem strange that our Truther friends don't get it. Here, let me put in black & white: if you blow up a bunch of stuff next to a steel beam, nothing much will happen to it. The beam will not 'blow up' and fall down even if you put thousands of pounds of conventional explosives next to it and detonate them. Using thermite doesn't change this and even the super magic of nanothermite won't change this. Let me quote that super scientist Rosie O'Donnell on this one - "It's the laws of physics".

Steel beams have to be prepared in a particular manner for a controlled demolition. This manner is complex and not easily done. It takes special equipment, highly trained people, and a lot of time. The demolition itself makes a lot of noise and has special characteristics that trained professionals can detect.

Don't give up, though. I have a solution to your dilemna. Just stop claiming it was a "controlled demolition". Make up a new name for this, like Super Duper Nano-Thermite Demolition and then make up a description of what a Super Duper Nano-Thermite Demolition would look like. Since no one's ever seen one, you can make it up to look any way you want - exactly like the destruction of WTC 1, 2, and 7. You can even claim that a Super Duper Nano-Thermite Demolition makes no noise and looks exactly as if fire had structurally damaged the steel support.

This is perfect. No need to thank me for saving your idea.

That's pretty much what the truthers do claim, isn't it?

Super-duper-nano-thermite is supposedly strong enough to have been a factor in the collapses yet it's quiet enough to have gone completely unnoticed.

Concerning that post, I will point out that it was an editorial type of comment on Ragnarok's quoted statement but was directed to the JREF members in general.

The problem is that this sublty is not neccessarily immediately obvious in a print only media such as an internet forum.

The special was excellent, and here is why,

1. It took some of the main pillars of truthdom, and it basically broke it down where the average joe could understand, and then proceded to show that the theory was implausible, or impossible. Will it convince the die hards..nope, not a chance, but it will definitely keep most of those who are merely curious about the theories from being fooled by the snake oil.

2. It provided me with my laugh of the night...

Truther trio going over the cylinder meets wall experiment, want to talk to EMERTEC guy, Abernathy...

DRG: is the experiment you did relevant anymore?
Abernathy (On phone): Well does it not explain the hole in the outer wall?
DRG: Oh the outer hole...well possibly, it's one theory.
Abernathy: What's the other theory?
DRG: nervous laughter..."well"...pause...ummm...well there have been lots of theories.

I agree. The average Joe, the average person, who is not into the details and technical explanations can easily follow this.

And, that nervous laughter by DRG, followed by the whole "well, um, well, um" provided some much needed comic relief.
