Legislated Forced Vaccinations

My CT inclined friend was yammering at us last night about how some bill (didn't say house or senate bill) was going to give the government authority to come into our homes and forcibly vaccinate us. I suspect that he was referring to whatever legislation is being developed as part of all this healthcare reform but he couldn't give a bill number or anything like that. (This is funny to me, because he was initially railing against legislators who "don't even read the bills they sign!!!!!" when it's obvious that he hasn't read whatever it was he was referring to. I've called him out on stuff like this before, specifically the house energy bill, which he said was going to allow da gubmint to forcibly enter your home and write you up for not being "green enough." But like I said, I don't know what legislation he's referring to here.)

So anyway, does anyone know of the specific legislation he's talking about? I searched Infowars, his usual source for stuff like this, and they don't have any specifics on legislation... just vague fearmongering. (Shocking, right?) I hate using the search engines employed on legislative web sites so I thought I'd check here first.

Relevant section, apparently (page 397 of the PDF):

(E) providing for home visits that promote immunization through education, assessments of need, referrals, provision of immunizations, or other services;

Last time I checked, though, home visits by doctors were either regularly scheduled or otherwise part of some agreement, not "forced".

And yeah, CT folks tend to overlook the "optional" aspects of stuff like this. They (or at least my friend) instantly assume that if it's in the legislation, it's mandatory. (He said last night that "when the jack boots hit the ground and they're sticking you with poisons you'll know I was right!") This is where I caught him on the energy bill thing. The language he was referring to was for an optional state home inspection program.

Thanks for those. I guess this is like martial law...it's always juuuuuust around the corner.

What's funny is as I was searching Infowars I came across an article that was something along the lines of "Government takes first steps towards forced vaccinations." As I read it, the language pretty much mirrored in tone what my friend was spouting and came to the same conclusion: Get ready for forced vaccinations. I naturally thought "well, this is it."

I then saw the article was from 2005.

But for real people, we need government speak translators for these sorts of bills. Cutting through the legalese is not easy. I don't think it's just my learning disability popping it's head up either to give me grief at fine print, I think that the majority of the population can't speak 'Lawyer'. It's like Mandarin Chinese.
