Is Obama a Natural Born Citizen?

I truly cannot BELIEVE people are still on about this.

The fact that it's bleeding over into the military at this point is also untenable to me. The man has been elected. The Supreme Court; the highest authority in the land when it comes to law; had long since approved both Obama and McCain to run for the highest office in the land.

HE IS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN ACCORDING TO THE HIGHEST COURT IN THE COUNTRY!

If that isn't enough for you, what is?

I also have a question; how is your birth certificate "fake" exactly? If it's a notarized copy of the original document, it is legitimate. If it simply says "Certification of live birth" (as mine does, I believe) it is legitimate. And is a fully legal document proving citizenship. So how is yours "fake" exactly?

What happened to investigative journalism? It seems to have become: Make an outrageous statement (i.e. The President isn't a natural born citizen) and then demand it be disproven. Until then it must be true and repeated ad nauseum.

It became, "Here's his effing birth certificate! Listen while the freakin' governor of Hawaii says it's true!"

Really, not all stories require a full-out Watergate probe.

I'm fairly certain that nobody in Obama's administration is shedding a tear for the right-wing talk radio set chasing their tails over a red herring such as this.

Matter of fact, they're probably laughing at them more than normal.

I'd go further - I think they're taunting them by ignoring the issue. The putzwits think that silence means confirmation, while it probably means that the Admin is just giving them enough rope. Let them carry on until the mid-term elections or even 2012.... then drop the proof bomb.

I mean, does anyone seriously doubt that the POTUS couldn't get the State of Hawaii to do up a nice legal document, come up with doctor's statements, etc.... ? They must be giggling in the Oval Office that they got Lou Dobbs into the fray. I mean Gordon Liddy? He'll buy anything? But if they can get Rush and Lou and O'Reilly to make idjits of themselves over a non-issue, it'll be political gold.

Well, let's see: On the one hand (A), we have people who are asking us to believe that Sandra Dunham, when she was pregnant, for God knows what reason left her residence in Hawaii and traveled to her husband's original home of Kenya (where he was not living at the time) in order to give birth there; that she or her parents also arranged to have false announcements planted in the newspapers in Honolulu at the time; that she or some unknown person or persons induced or compelled the members of the Obama family in Kenya to deny this and to propagate the lie that Barack II was born in Hawaii; that the same or other unknown persons also induced or compelled state health director Dr. Chiyome Fukino of the State of Hawaii to propagate this same lie and to make the false statement in public that she had handled the original birth certificate; and that similarly unknown persons induced or compelled the State of Hawaii to issue a forged "certification of live birth," all of this without anyone who was involved in the conspiracy coming clean about it. Supporters of this cause have resorted to demonstrable misrepresentation in order to make it appear that Sarah Obama had said that her step-grandson was born in her presence in Kenya and have made other desperate and false claims about the absence of a seal on the certification of live birth and so on -- all of which, presumably, we are not supposed to regard as casting any doubt on the legitimacy of their claims.

On the other hand (B), we have people who are asking us to believe that Obama was born where his certificate of live birth, a contemporary newspaper announcement, everyone in his family, and all the officials of the State of Hawaii who are concerned in the matter say that he was born.

In other words, we have, on side A, a classic case of conspiratorial delusion, and on side B, common sense.

Your claim that both parties are equally "whacko" is, to put it mildly, unpersuasive.

Nicely done and welcome.

ahem post 60..

Are you suggesting that the birth notice in the local Hawaii newspaper announcing his birth, was actualy placed way back then as stage 1 in their plan than finaly came to fruition, when he became president?

and then post 73..
... that she or her parents also arranged to have false announcements planted in the newspapers in Honolulu at the time...

and then in answer to post 79...
.... As for the newspaper article, your the first one in this thread to mention it. Thanks :)

please - if you are going to participate in your own thread read it first. Your apparently racist comment is by far the most offensive contribution but your inability to read and digest information and evidence that runs contrary to your position is telling.

When I first heard the rumor in Oct 2008 I created this thread in order to figure out if was true or not.
The only form of proof that this thread produced was birth certificate.:boggled: Even if the birth certificate was personally delivered by President Blackface himself period wouldn't prove anything to me, because my birth certificate just so happens to be fake, as for what happen to my real one is beyond me. As for the newspaper article, your the first one in this thread to mention it. Thanks :)

Is h.g Whiz a racist, a troll trying to get a rise out of people, or just incredibly stupid? No other possibilities exist.

There is a website that collects (and corrects) the birther nonsense at obamaconspiracy.org

I had recently read one of Berg's lawsuits and one of Taitz's lawsuits, but I had no idea that there were so many more. At the site noted above, there is a page on the various lawsuits, with links to documents and such. I have not read them all, but one in particular is downright vile, and I do mean vile. (Not surprisingly, it is the one apparently filed by the Church of Jesus Christ Christian/Aryan Nations of Missouri).

This is utterly insane, truly.

I truly cannot BELIEVE people are still on about this.
Mind you, these are the same people who hated it when Michael Moore and company went on about how Bush was "selected, not elected".

That the Aryan Nation of Missouri lawsuit names the Missouri Department of Mental Health as a defendent is just too appropriate.
BTW the White Supremist lawsuit is listed as being sealed. What does that mean exactly?

And who the heck is supposedly behind this conspiracy? The governor of Hawai'i is a Republican and was a vocal supporter of McCain during the election campaign. Why didn't she expose the statewide cover-up on election day when it was clear Obama was winning?

Stupidity.

A resolution proclaiming Hawaii Obama's birthplace passed in the House unanimously.

It would make some political sense for congressional Democrats to start pressing their Republican colleagues on the birthers. If Republicans don't reject the conspiracy theories about President Obama's birthplace outright, their opponents can use it to paint them as extremists; if they do reject them, they might have a problem with their base.

Greg Sargent reported Monday that one House Democrat, Hawaii's Neil Abercrombie, was doing just that. Abercrombie, Sargent wrote, "is going to introduce a resolution on the House floor today that seems designed to put House GOPers who are flirting with birtherism in a jam .... [The resolution] commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood. But here’s the rub, his spokesman tells me: It describes Hawaii as Barack Obama’s birthplace."

The resolution wasn't really intended to jam up the House Republicans, or to rebuke the birthers, though. (The implied slam at the birthers was a side benefit, but not the primary purpose by any means.) Besides, the resolution was actually introduced last month -- it just happened to be brought to the floor on Monday.

It will be hard for the members of congress who voted for the resolution, and who don't want to alienate the "Bwithers," to deny that they believe the President wasn't born in Hawaii.

This was well timed.

BTW I don't live in Rep. Michelle Bachman's district.

It means that the stench was so bad that it had to be removed from the courthouse by a HAZMAT team.

It's well-timed for the GOP actually. They dodge the bullet of being associated with the Birthers. There are always crazy people pushing crazy theories; the key is not letting your party get associated with them. I give the Democrats credit; the only real 9-11 Troofer they had was McKinney and the Democratic Party actually voted her out of office twice. You can argue Dean (I thought his statement on Diane Rehm was loathsome, but he didn't repeat it).

The GOP goes on the record as thinking the Obama "Birther" theories are invalid. That's not only a good thing for the Republicans but for the country.

Sadly, it will have no effect on the froot loops still pushing this, much like the official attempts from within our state.

This is the second time Dr. Fukino and Gov. Lingle have officially gone on record over this.

Love how they demand to see the "birth certificate" and if and when its produced, these same nutbars are going to claim its fake.

A STATE run by an REPUBLICAN Governor (who supported McCain) vouches for the BC and they wont TAKE the word of Hawaii's governor.

Tired of the idiots, SINCE they are basically claiming that EVERY signle Hawaii Resident is not a CITIZEN of the US, simply because Hawaii only issues SHORT form certificates

Indeed. If as some birthers cry, Obama waved his birth certificate in everybody's face in a press conferance to quell concern for his citizenship, birthers would still dismiss it as being fake or complain that it's not the original. That wont be satisfied and always find something inadequate in the explanation (same tactic truthers or other conspiracist use).

A copy of his certificate is shown?? They say it's fake and ask "why his aunt say's she saw him born in Kenya" or why he has lawyers blocking it's release lol. In there eyes those questions (which are mostly falsehoods) are enough reason to ignore the facts and to continue to embrace the conspiracy. They simply wont be satisfied with any answer.
