John Edwards welcomes skeptics...

Skeptical enough to agree with his 'hits', but not so skeptical as to require extra time and attention explaining the misses, apparently.

I'm skeptical that this is really John Edwards. He sounds more like John Edward to me. John Edwards is a disgraced politician. (Though one might say that at least they have "disgraceful" in common.)

Damn you, Tricky--ya beat me to it. I was going say that since he pretty much owned up to the affair, there isn't much to be skeptical about...

JE always says stuff like that--that he welcomes skepticism. But then in the same breath he'll say that he refuses to be tested. Okayyy.

Tricky beat me to it. I feel sorry for John Edward, slimy as he is, that his name is so often confused with the even slimier John Edwards.

Well, I liked John Edwards and supported him in his presidential run. Like a lot of other politicians, he has a problem with Johnson Control, and I lost a lot of respect for him because of the way he treated his wife, but as far as politics goes, I think it should be divorced from sex. I think this is true for Mark Sanford, Bill Clinton and George Washington. If you are the best at the job, then your sexual pecadillos shouldn't matter.

But I am not wrong in calling him a "disgraced politician", because by today's rules, he is. I wish our society were not so prudish, but that's the way it is.

But I don't feel bad about John Edward being slandered because they have a similar name. He should have seen it coming.

John Edwards welcomes skepticism, he just doesn't like criticism.

He pretty much said that, in almost those words, in one of his books.

Darn it, I can never get those two names straight!!

And I must have repeated the mistake in the OP...

I'm sure John Edward would welcome skeptics...as long as they signed the requisite non-disclosure paperwork.

What does he say? He talks so fast that even with repeated replays I can't get the words. This is the best that I came up with:

Is skepticism an obstacle for you?

Not really. I don’t really find skepticism to be an obstacle. I find skepticism to actually be a tool that ASSISTS somebody who is legitimate at what they do. If someone is being skeptical, that means that they are thinking. And if they are thinking and you are giving it to someone ACCURATE and they think that it is VALID you get it to that place that much faster.

To me, he is saying skeptics are the best suckers--if they buy the bull. Skeptics are good because "IF they THINK that it is VALID", they are totally sold. No proof necessary. Skeptic thought it was valid. Case closed.

Ahh, yes. I can't PROVE my ability, but I can CONVINCE people to believe in my ability. Skeptic suckers welcome.

Proof? Academic tests? Million dollar challenges? Psahw!!! Look at the people I've CONVINCED!!!!! Plus I can talk very fast!!!! And EMPHASIZE words that I want to!! And guess letters!!! Assist. Accurate. Legitimate. Valid. Skepticism got nuttin on me!!!! :boggled:

OMG! Bill Clinton and George Washington?!

I am shocked. Shocked, I tell you!
