A broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barret
The last two years I did a little side trip I called Guns and Nukes to the Atomic Testing Museum and the Gun Store that usually had about 15-20 Forumites participate.
I got volunteered to do it again, but I need to beg off of at least part of it, because (1) I am also working at least two other side activities besides my own plans and (2) only 3 people have committed for the Museum and (3) I've been to the museum three years in a row and, really, it's a great little museum but 4 years straight is a bit much.
So I'll concentrate on the Guns and if somebody wants to do a side trip to the Atomic Testing Museum, I'll gladly provide any info they'd like to have.
So, onto the Guns. We have visited The Gun Store http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/gunrental.html which allows one to, upon suitable exchange of cash, shoot a weapon on a gun range with personnel monitoring you to be sure that you do not shoot (1) each other or (2) yourself. Types of weapons include pistols and various machine guns. So far I've shot a Thompson Submachine gun, an AK-47, and a Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). Haven't decided what to blast away with this time.
In the past we have normally done this Sunday afternoon after the papers have been presented and TAM closed. I would recommend keeping to that schedule, maybe leaving the hotel at 2PM (time for lunch and saying goodbye for those leaving early) and returning by 4PM at the latest (plenty of time for evening activities).
The store is open until 6:30PM, but since TAM sessions on Friday and Saturday often run past 5PM, that would be pushing it.
Would like any opinions and thoughts, and look for something when you register on Thursday near the Forum table for signing up. Need drivers to identfy themselves, I have a minivan but 12-20 people in a minivan is a violation of several laws, not the least the State of Nevadas'.
