"The best way to put it: He's trying to kill spirit. All this hope and change, he's trying to kill it .... This Sanford buisness, I gotta tell you, one of the first thoughts that crossed my mind ... What he did defies logic. This is more than being 180 degrees out of phase because of lust or love ... This is almost like, "I don't give a damn, the country's going to Hell in a handbasket, I just want out of here." He had just tried to fight the stimulus money coming to South Carolina. He didn't want any part of it; he lost the battle. He said, 'What the hell. I mean, the federal government's taking over -- what the hell, I want to enjoy life."

Rush Limbaugh today.

It's that keen sense of personal responsibility that the Republicans are such big fans of. If someone screws up, it's their own fault...Unless they're a Republican, in which case it's the Democrats' fault.

Conveniently missing from Limbaugh's "analysis" is that Sanford admits that the affair started about a year ago, long before Obama was in office.

That doesn't make any sense. Sanford is a Democrat.

When you consider that the powers of evil have been planning to put Obama into a position of power since he was born (and they had to hide his real birth certificate and make up the story that he was born in the US), it is not at all inconceivable that they decerned that Sanford was the GOP's "John Kennedy (as Rush called him the other day lamenting his fall...I think he meant the charismatic JFK, not the sex crazed pill popper, but maybe that too), the powers that are knew they'd have to get him out of the way. SO they prepositioned this Fembot Argentinian pre-programmed to be irresistable to the quasi-libertarian end of the world fire breathing conservative and creepy Sanford. He got sucked in, thus another potential rival to Obama bites the dust. It is all genius. If I were the GOP firebreathers I would have to ask myself: how can you beat Satan. You can't.

LOL. Good old Fox news. You can count on them to make one of these kind of "mistakes" with some regularity. Oddly, it seems that it almost invariably is a mistake that reflects badly on the Democrats.

ETA: I see Cleon noticed the same thing.

Now, let's be fair. It was a guy with a mistress. It's easy to see how Fox News would make that mistake.

If it had been a guy with a gay prostitute, that leads one to think of Republicans.

BaZING!

That's pretty ridiculous, even by Limbaugh's standards.

Never let it be said that Rush doesn't take his job (propagandist) seriously. On the other hand, that particular rant has the ring of an Oxycontin buzz to it.

I wonder if Rush will also become overwhelmed by Obama sucking out his spirit, pack his viagra, and head for the Dominican Republic for good.

I'm more than a little reminded of the Iranian UN Ambassador the other night trying to convince Wolf Blitzer on CNN that the woman, Neda?, was killed by the CIA....

I think I actually watched the Fox report show on the day the story broke. They identified him as a republican clearly and repeatedly.

Once again, Media Matters turns type errors into bias. Not surprised. Also not surprised that Upchurch is still sourcing those loons.

Obama has a time-machine and a latex Bush mask, how else do you think he caused the recession?

Limbaugh is a genius. It pains me to say this, but he is indeed a towering, sublime genius.

When I read the title of a blog stating that Rush was blaming Obama for Sanford's affair, I though to myself, "There is no way he'll be able to connect this to Obama. NO F#@$ING WAY."

But he did. He always does.

You know, I seem to recall that this isn't the first time that Fox News "accidentally" put a D next to the name of a GOP politico who was caught with his pants down (so to speak).

Indeed: SHOCKING: Fox News Labels Disgraced Republican Mark Sanford -- A Democrat

I think it's just automatic now. When a high-profile Republican gets into trouble, Fox News steps in to mislead their sheep viewers by labeling them as Democrats.
Here's a short list of Fox's chyron hackery:
John McCain - Democrat
Joe Lieberman - Democrat
Arlen Spector - Democrat (when he was still a Republican!)
Mark Foley - Democrat...

That was no typo, corp. You're shooting the messenger. If you don't like Media Matters, fine, but check, for example, Oliver's link. This R-> D "error" is too frequent and too one-way to be an oopsie.

What's most impressive with this theory is Sanford's intuition that Obama would win the Democractic primary, the presidency, the economy would melt down and we'd be taken down the dark road of communism. Absolutely genius to begin an extramarital affair a year ago just in a case he needed a quick self destruct button for his career.

Yeah, but I heard that it sent two of his writers into the loonie bin and a couple of assistants went catatonic.

:)?

Why does anyone take this tub of lard seriously with his record?
And I feel the same way about Michael Moore.
Both are masters of the half truth, the carefully ommited evidence, and out and out lies at time.
And I also feel both are prerry much preaching to the choir.
