What *exactly* will be the protocol? Please clarify why you think the telephone is a necessary part of your telepathy experiment.

I know a non-telephone protocol has been suggested on another thread for you, but for some reason you chose not to follow it. Why was the protocol unsuitable?

Maybe he just plans to say

"You are thinking I am a deeply weird and slightly creepy individual"

and we'd be forced to admit he was pretty spot on.

There must be an easier way to get people to talk to you ... why not sign up to be a "Psychic Friends Network" counselor? Then, you'll actually get paid to have people call you!

(... then maybe you'll stop laming up the place...)

To be fair, if telepathy existed - if, say, your brain emitted a kind of 'sound waves' the way a radio could and other people could hear them - there's nothing wrong with a hypothesis that these waves could pass through a phone line, the way audible sound can. ETA: That's actually an interesting question - what can pass through a phone line? I know it sounds like a weird question, but does infrasound carry? Does the sound of a dog whistle or whatever it's called in English?

Regular phone line bandwidth is about 100Hz-5KHz (hm, howstuffworks says 400Hz->3KHz, which is much smaller than I thought)

Human hearing is about 50Hz->15KHz (depending on age).
