It says in the story that he noticed that the psychic's woman friend had a phone just like the one he bought the psychich to give to his ex. Upon inspection it had all the notes he'd sent to what he thought was his ex. He called the cops to the psychic's residence.

I wonder more how this idiot didn't see it coming. Honestly, some people just make it so easy for these creeps to make a living.
 
He shouldn't have tried it to begin with if he really were psychic.

Plus, I thought psychics didn't use their gifts for personal enrichment, to say nothing of scams.
