Those strange people who insist, bizarrely, on calling themselves "truthers," although they do little apart from telling lies, cannot learn. They can't admit any errors or make any concessions, however slight. Their incredibly stupid myths can't survive any contact with reality.

it would make them have to rethink everything in their lives
that would in turn crush them
so they have to believe

and i think like a lot of people have been saying in recent threads
the "truth" movement seems to be losing steam
the fringe people are almost all but gone at this point
youre either way to one side or the other on this issue
and what youre left with is the people who are insanely locked into their beliefs

What I find hilarious is that they're locked into beliefs that can't make sense even to them, no matter how stupid they are.

Yes, I wondered what "parasitic drag" and the alternative meant and got an excelent explanation involving liftvectors of airplane vings.
No I am not, and have not been a truther but that does not stop me from asking questions when I think explanations are avaiable. (or rather, it makes me more likely to do it)

well unfortunately we may find it hard to look at things exactly from their point of view with out being able to reason and work with logic

the biggest thing you have to remember when dealing with people is:
crazy people do not realize they are crazy lol

I stand in awe of the knowledge of some of the people who post here. What defines a guy like Heiwa as a fraud is his unwillingness to engage his critics. He talks right past them, never once considering the possibility that he might be wrong. That brings us back to the old question, Are they frauds who know how wrong they are or are they just nuts who don't inhabit the real world? I strongly believe that they are a combination of the two. The exact mixture varies from one "truther" to another.

I think you have hit it on the head. Especially the not being able to admit any errors. I think that is what it all comes down to. That looking the facts dead in the eye ultimately means you have to admit to yourself that you fell for BS. And that's hard for some people to do. They'd rather continue to wallow in their false belief than think for one minute that they could have made a mistake, or been fooled into believing something untrue. They simply can't have been wrong.

At what point would we have to say that debunker's continued insistance that there was no 9/11 conspiracy is ridiculous ? I mean with all the stuff hat's coming out it is plain to see that there is a huge case to be answered.
For so many on this forum to be pathologically (or cynically) opposed to the notion in the face of all the evidence that is coalescing is just not canny. There is a professional face to this that is becoming clearer with every passing day.
There is absolutely no doubt any more that a new and completely independent 9/11 enquiry with full powers of subpoena is urgently needed
