The Anthony family’s private investigator told authorities he was talking on the phone with a psychic as he searched woods in November not far from where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found, sources told WESH 2 News on Monday.

Dominic Casey can be seen talking on a telephone in video shown this weekend on "Geraldo At Large" on the Fox News Channel.

Another private investigator shot the video that shows Casey coming out of the woods on Nov. 15. Casey told WESH 2 reporter Bob Kealing previously that he was talking on the phone with his daughter.

But on Monday, two sources said Casey said he was talking with a psychic who was telling him where to search along Suburban Drive. Investigators are reviewing that assertion.

Casey's lawyer said Monday that his client did not have prior knowledge of where Caylee's body was, nor did the Anthony family. Brad Conway also said Casey was at the scene checking on a previous tip when he got a phone call, and that he was not talking with anyone in the Anthony family.

Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in December not far from where Dominic Casey was searching.

Dominic Casey has said he did not find any remains in his search of the woods. He photographed trash, beer bottles, old tires, even a toilet and turned that over to law enforcement.

Not long ago a psychic claimed he knew exactly how Caylee Anthony was killed. Marlon Michaels-Richter declared that he had a vision of how the child had been murdered and gave the gory details. Is he right?

“Don’t be fooled by her cold-hearted lies and calculated deceptions … in a chilling vision, I watched tot mom Casey Anthony murder baby Caylee with bug killer and homemade chloroform.”

Some believe the fellow is right on; others believe he took scraps of evidence that he had heard and put them together in order to make assumptions about the crime. Even Nancy Grace, according to reports, has made similar predictions.

Dani Pedlow, another psychic, has made pronouncements about the Sandra Cantu case. In fact there is a rift with the police about her involvement in the case. The psychic believes she is entitled to reward money because she claims she sent tips to the police that allowed them to find where Sandra’s body would be found. According to reports she has education in psychology and criminology before she went to New York to work on the radio. Her biography says this about her : “My life as a clairvoyant began at birth. It always was. It was never a choice, it was part of my identity. My listening to The Spirit within me, led to resistance from my parents. My persistence was greeted with hostility and denial in the beginning, then things were altered by defining moments in my life.”

These divine guidance approaches or psychic observations reveals that many psychics, according to experts, deal with vague generalities. This is where they randomly search for names saying they are searching for a name like Joe, or John or Josephine or that they see a “J” associated with the case. Then when the case is solved, or more facts are found, suddenly these “facts” become real. So psychics help may be sought, and there is publicity surrounding them, but whether or not they are truly helpful in solving crimes is very much in question, at least as observed by those who have reviewed the literature and examined information from detectives who have used the services of psychics.

The autopsy report was just released and it shows just how wrong many of the "psychic predictions" were:

ORLANDO, Florida (CNN) -- There was no trauma visible on the "completely skeletonized" remains of slain toddler Caylee Anthony, but there were overlapping pieces of duct tape over her mouth, according to the autopsy report released Friday.

"This duct tape was clearly placed prior to decomposition, keeping the mandible in place," she says in the report. Garavaglia said animals had scattered the bones after decomposition began.

The cause of the child's death is listed as "homicide by undetermined means."

"The roots growing into the vertebrae and bags indicate the body was placed there months prior to being found," Garavaglia said. "There is nothing inconsistent with the body being placed there soon after the date of [Caylee] being last seen alive."

The search for Caylee ended December 11, when a meter reader brought out a bag containing a skull from the woods. He said he had contacted police three times in August to report a suspicious bag in the area. A deputy was ultimately fired for not properly searching the area.

So for seven months the little girl was dead and body was likely where she was placed after she was killed. Yet, no psychic could discern the body's location or events, but that didn't stop some from claiming they were "right." Pathetic. If a psychic really could find a body or help police then they could have pointed where the body was (near the grandparents' home) for seven months.

The e-mails reveal that Dominic Casey’s tips “came mostly from psychics,” Belich said, and that he had disparaging names for Baez.

Baez told WFTV that he cut ties with Dominic Casey because “it was obvious the private eye was making stuff up,” Belich said.

Thank you for posting that update, Questioninggeller. It's belief in woo-woo like this that led me to start the thread.

So Cindy Anthony would rather say that the psychic was right about "a fantastic story to explain how Caylee was kidnapped to Venezuela" instead of recognizing the (difficult to accept) truth. Stuff like this will only hurt real investigations into crime in the future.
