Merged What knocked over the lightpoles, if not AA77?

We, however, can make the judgement that in flight a wing is quite tender, and that just one pole took a wing clean off a 20+ seater twin engine jet immediately.

And in Hani's case, multiple poles seemingly had zero effect, a notable distinction.

Once again, how do you know it had zero effect? Do you have someway of comparing the flight characteristics of the plane both before and after the lightpoles that we don't know about?

Basic arithmetic, roundhead: how long does it take to travel one hundred yards at 400 mph?

Let me make sure i understand you...the first lightpole flight 77 "SUPPOSEDLY" impacted was only 100 yards from the Pentagon wall???

What kind of light pole was at the toll plaza?

You CANNOT ignore this question. The make of the light pole is crucial in determining how much resistance it will put up before toppling over. Hollow metal breakaway lamps aren't going to put up a fight.

Roundhead it has been discussed before, you were involved in those discussions, stop trolling this forum.

Guys, please, there is nothing to see here other than a troll winding everybody up.

Ask yourself:

It hit multiple light poles, and supposedly didnt lose a wing or its air worthyness a hundred yards later

We know that IF 77 hit, it did so with the bottom of its engine nacelles just barely above the ground.

Do all those poles would need to have had absolutelyzero effect, i would think, to cause a guy with zero flying experience to pull that off without hitting the ground inbound.

Bare in mind this whole thing is based on the OCT, which i know to be a lie, just trying to put a point on that.

Here, this is simple math. The plane was flying approximately 800Km/H or 222 m/s , not precisely, but I will keep the numbers simple, if you have a more precise number, feel free do to the calculations. Say the lightpoles were 100m from the Pentagon, once again, a simplification, but a reasonable estimate. So that means the plane took a little less than .5 seconds to hit the Pentagon after it hit the lightpoles.

Let us also assume that the lightpoles damaged the wings of the plane so badly that they lost all lift, an assumption extremely generous to your argument, since they were probably not damaged near that much, but to show you how stupid your argument is, I will assume that.

So how far does an object in freefall, fall in .5 seconds?

1.2 meters. Less than 4 feet. Please explain to us how you know the plane didn't fall an extra 4 feet before it crashed.

You "know" that because of eyewitness reports. What of the eyewitness reports stating that 77 hit light poles?

Bolded parts are complete lies. Welcome to ignore, troll.

the poles did not have much effect
they were mounted on "breakaway" bases
as per VADOT specs (i found the PDF's for them a long time ago a lil research could pull them up) the bases are designed to breakaway in low speed crashes so that a normally survivable accident isnt turned fatal by hitting an immovable light pole (this fact is quoted and used by both sides of the argument)

so when a huge plane hits them at 500+ MPH they do their job and break away
not causing enough interference to deviate the plane

Texas Sharpshooters Fallacy, you do not know that Hanjour was aiming for that point, maybe he was aiming for the roof and missed.

Because the plane hit FAA approved collaspable light poles that are mandated to be installed within one mile of any airport

Ronald Regan airport is 3/4 of a mile from the Pentagon

A few years back a large Gulfstream(capable of carrying a number of passengers crashed in Texas. If i remember correctly, this plane was used to carry first President Bush around at times.

It was manned by a skilled pilot and co-pilot.

It hit ONE light pole and crashed immediately, even with a veteran pilot aboard, and that ONE pole knocked its wing off.

The comparison couldn't be more unlike.

The small plane was a Gulfstream G-1159A jet,

http://www.emsresponder.com/web/online/Top-EMS-News/Three-Dead-in-Private-Jet-Crash-Near-Hobby-Airport-in-Houston--Texas/1$1296

Specificaltions:

It weighs between 16 and 35 tons.

The wings didn't carry the weight of the engines. The wings were fragile compared to the wings on a 757.

It was on approach. Say it was going 100MPH.

The wings of the 757 were strong enough to carry the engines and a plane that weighed 4-8 times as much.

The 757 was going about 5x as fast.

You are a troll.

While I think this may be a bit extreme, I completely understand your sentiments. My new policy is to only debate the new twoofers. If they choose to ignore evidence, then I cease conversation with them. Twoofers such as HI, Ibis, Ultima, Heiwa, etc should never be engaged in any sort of discourse. The sooner JREF members realize this the better.

Hah hahhahahahahaa!

Oh dear lord, is Roundy serious?

FANTASTIC!! I love this!

Hey Roundy, my kid rode his bike into a lamp post last week, but it did not fall down. The same one that a car knocked down yesterday. How did that happen?

Keep posting champy!!!!

Unbelievably wonderful.

Roundhead, you are most certainly COINTELPRO. You're a very valuable member of the debunking team. Nice job! You are making truthers look like total morons.

Just FYI, but I've reported this thread and asked for it to be merged with either of two threads R.Mackey pointed out in post #7.

This is a blatant lie.

ETA: Yeah, you know what? I had always suspected roundhead was trolling, but his posts always seemed less coherent than your typical troll, so I couldn't be sure. His above statement is too obvious a lie, though. roundhead = ignored.
