Benign Conspiracies

I would like to discuss what I would call "benign conspiracies" about 9/11. These are basically secret evil government plots, without the "evil" part.

You've seen them. You've seen Truthers claim that WTC7 was demolished for safety reasons--to prevent a much more uncontrolled and dangerous collapse. You've seen Truthers claim that Flight 93 was shot down because the government knew it had been hijacked and knew that it was headed for another major building if they didn't stop it.

Yes, the government had secret plots, but they were good rather than evil. They had pure and benevolent motives for doing what they did. We all would've done the same thing were we in their position.

That just leaves one point of confusion: the "secret" part. Now I can't for the life of me figure out why, if you really did all of the right things for all of the right reasons, you would go to all the trouble to cover it up.

What are some possible explanations for why the government would cover up these "benign conspiracies"?

Because the plan all along was to start the conspiracy theories to put us all off the scent that 19 hijackers from the caves did this all by themselves. Dont you get it dude. The whole thing isnt really real - its all a conspiracy within a conspiracy about a conspiracy that didnt happen - got it now

One could certainly argue that the government covered up shooting down Flight 93 because it was embarrassed to learn that the passengers on that flight were trying to take back control of the plane. One problem: it was a day or two before the "Let's Roll" stories began to circulate in the media, and on 9-11 shooting down the last flight would have been seen as a victory for the government and military.

They are simple ploys designed to allow truthers to get their foot in the door with people who would shut them out if they dare assign evilness to the alleged perps...

Things they use to convince defenders of the first responders, etc...

Goes something like this...

"Well if I say that WTC7 was a CD, and implicate the Firefighters, I will never convince anyone, because we cannot get away with accusing those heroes...but, what if I were able to come up with a reason that WTC7 could have come down via CD, but not implicate anyone of any wrong doing....Like they had to bring it down for safety reasons or something!!"
