OH! That was an attempt at making the local brew palatable? Oh, why didn't you say so? Yes, of COURSE British beer is served lukewarm, in fact it's almost tepid. I've had steam baths which were colder.

Better?
Ahhh...gag...great Miller...gag...cough cough...super...cough cough...:boggled:

Wikipedia has this historical explanation for the state of American beer:
Prior to Prohibition, there were thousands of breweries in the United States, mostly brewing heavier beers than modern US beer drinkers are used to. Beginning in 1920, most of these breweries went out of business, although some converted to soft drinks and other businesses. Bootlegged beer was often watered down to increase profits, beginning a trend, still on-going today, of the American palate preferring weaker beers. Consolidation of breweries and the application of industrial quality control standards have led to the mass-production and the mass-marketing of huge quantities of light lagers.

On behalf of Xtians, whose puritanical streak was a factor in Prohibition, I would like to apologise for this terrible affliction that you poor Americans suffer from.

This is my beer:

All these criticisms of my spelling.. hmmmph. Don't make me bitter.:sour: I'll have to go and console my soul and uplift my spirit.

It isn't your fault Brits are enamored with vowels. I would offer to raise a cup in long-distance empathy, but 6:45 am is a bit too early to imbibe. I will stick with tea for now.

(Green, as tea should be. None of the milk and sugar nonsense. ;))

You may not know that millions of us here don't drink mass market swill like Bud and Miller. The US is quite full of wonderful microbrews. As much as I like Newcastle and Guiness, there is no shortage of beer here that is just as good or better.

Many of us here don't swallow mass market bilge like Genesis and Revelation. The world is quite full of wonderful reality. As much as I like neurobiology and geology, there is no shortage of science here that is just as well researched or better.

There's no problem with the supply of the good stuff... its the marketing of and consequent demand for the crap that is of concern

What is the penalty here for asserting that you like Millers?

'Jes asking, mind you.
I think its only fair that you fund an exhaustive study, in which I volunteer to be part of the 'control group' that partakes only of real ale

:D
