Off the Strip looks very very nice, but it's against my religion to pay USD24 for LAMB freakin' CHOPS.

Yeah, notice nowhere in my "review" did I use the words "cheap" or "inexpensive." But again, if you're a foodie, it's a nice experience. And I do at least feel good knowing my $$ are going to Al/Tom and the staff, not some huge corporglomorate.

But the bottom line for me is that I want to remain flexible during my very first TAM experience.

I can't wait!

It's not the cost so much itself but the fact it is for lamb chops. Perhaps they are more exotic in the USA but here in Australia they are staple and I grew up eating them probably three or four times a week. The phrase "lamb chops" is byword for bog standard cheap working class fare. It's like a $30 hamburger or something -- just seems wrong!

I did mean to leave a dash on Monday since I will be leaving town on Sunday, but I guess a NO would sffice.

A friend of mine's mother grew up in Cuba and fled to the US when Castro came to power. Her very first date stateside was with a young man she knew to not have a lot of money, so even though he took her to a nice restaurant, she chose the cheapest food she could think of - lobster.

He ordered a salad.

I can post a longer review if anyone wants. If there are any "foodies" out there, I discovered a nice place week before last on a business trip to Vegas. It's called "Off the Strip, Just Real Food" and yes, it's off The Strip.

But is it real food?

Not exotic. Uncommon. Even more so over the last few decades as our meat consumption has focused more on cattle, pigs and chickens. Rabbit isn't all that exotic either, but it's uncommon food on our dinner tables and would probably fetch a higher price on an eatery menue.

This is Vegas we're talking about. I bet there's a $300 hamburger on someone's menu.
