Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

So are you saying we can now stop calling it the Big Bang "Theory" because there is now "proof" of it?

No. You don't seem to know what those terms mean.

But even if the entire universe (matter and space) did expand from something smaller than one atom (like the current theory states) -- that doesn't mean God didn't cause it to happen.

It doesn't mean that Odin didn't do it, either.

And actually it would seem more plausible to me that an intelligent being would cause such an incredible event than for it to happen by non-intelligent random forces.

Why ? Wouldn't intelligence mean that something caused God ? Turtles, I say.

There is no misunderstanding, The Big Bang Theory is just what it says. It is a theory where there is no absolute proof that it is true. And as I stated even if it was proven absolutely true that doesn't mean God didn't cause it.

So, basically yours is just an argument from ignorance ?

Well, then. Any and all faiths are equal under that philosophy.

Historical evidence?

But there is evidence for it. There is historical evidence, empirical evidence, and the evidence of logic.

The Romans apparently didn't even consider Jesus important enough to write anything about him, nor did any of His contemporaries for whom we have records. The Gospels were written much later by non-eyewitnesses (i.e. hearsay) who often couldn't get their stories straight. Finally, the text of what we know of as the New Testament was determined through a process of negotiation and some Christian faiths disagree with one another on which books belong in the NT.

I found this to be quite amusing.

Check out Time 6:22-7:00

I know that DOC likes to say that Luke is a "great Historian", but here we have another historian clearly stating that "Luke Made a mistake" regarding the Roman census.

Note that the guy talking is Father Jerome Murphy-O'Connor, a Roman Catholic Dominican Priest.

Roman Catholic are not DOC's brand of true Christian.
That means, anything they say is wrong, unless it support DOC's presumptions.

Sorry, Kathy, but Satan is purely a Christian concept. If you are going to absorb any information at all here, you should at least be able to understand that atheists don't believe in any supernatural beings, not god, not the spagetti monster, and not satan.

Satan is certainly not some science fiction character, he is very REAL!

And I'll remind you just because you cannot see God it does not mean HE isn't there!!

And back to the OP topic the New Testament wirters did tell the TRUTH!!!

I think you overlooked a key word in the thread title. The first one, to be precise.

Yes, and any other made up being is real too.

Paul

:) :) :)

I will sit at the north window tonight and wait for Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.

Ok, please that a minute to look at this statement of yours.

Now replace God by 'fluffy pink unicorn', 'tusk-less woolly mammoth with lizard's tail' or 'giant flying spaghetti monster' (your choice) and read it again.

Ok?
Get it?

That's why your argument is not convincing.

Only in your imagination.

Just because you are told over and over again that he is there, doesn't mean that he is there. It's not just sight, there is no reason at all to think that god is any more than a human fantasy.

If you have read the thread, I'm sure you will be ready to admit now that they didn't tell the truth.

Leave this to the grown-ups Kathy.
