What evidence would convince you that god exists?

There are lots of people who are deluded about all sorts of things. Vacationers go to Jerusalem and become convinced they are Christ. I would guess that you and I would say they are not -- no matter how convinced they are.

I don't see your point. My point is that there are propositions we know cannot be false:
"Some thinking thing exists" (watered down from "I exist" because "I" is unclear)
"There are no square circles"

If God exists, and wishes to reveal its existence, it could create some new type of evidence that puts "God exists" in the same category as the above. I have no idea what kind of evidence this would be.

Obviously. That's why we are both here. :D

You can't prove that. We may all be pawns in a game that was randomly created without intelligent cause.

"There are no square circles"

There are no square circles in an Euclidean Universe at the scales at which we can measure. This does not preclude other possible Universes or for this Universe to suddenly change so that square circles are the norm.

If God exists, and wishes to reveal its existence, it could create some new type of evidence that puts "God exists" in the same category as the above. I have no idea what kind of evidence this would be.

And how would you know that it not was some technologically advanced race pulling your leg or that you are not delusional?

;)

What would convence me that god exists? Don't know, and don't care. Assuming we are talking about a god with some sort of omniscience and omnipotence (doesn't even need to be the "can break laws of logic" type), then that god knows very well what it would take to convince. Since I haven't been convinced, it tells me that god hasn't provided that information. Given that god is omnipotent, and has the ability to provide it, then I conclude that god either doesn't want or doesn't care that I believe that he exists. If god doesn't care whether I believe it, then why should I?
