Is this a "God of the Gaps" argument we are getting from out of our truculent truther?
You know what that argument is, of course, its where the idiot Creationists tell us; "You can't prove that whales evolved from land mammals, there are no fossils that show a transitional form!" And then you find a fossil of a whale with legs, and they tell you, that you STILL can't prove it, because you can't show them a form between that creature and the modern whale. And so on. And so on.
They rely on the fact that the fossil record is the ultimate "fog of war" and only records a "lucky" few creatures in any era, so the fossils you find of any sort of creature form discontinuous lines, and you are forced as a paleontologist to relate the discontinuities one to the other by shared morphological traits.
Their argument here, absolutely exemplified by the vapid vomitus spewed forth by H.I. here, is that since we cannot give them every number, every aircraft location, the position of every beverage cart and every in-flight magazine on 9/11/01, that we have not proven our case.
Its an airtight argument that seals out truth as efficiently as a plastic bag over the head seals out air. (Don't try that at home, truthers! Since you are SO stupid I thought I ought to warn you of that!)
