Bowling, Bowling, Bowling....

Is there still room on Team Suck?? I definitely qualify if athletic inability is what you're after...
 
I kinda wish I could go now.

My personal league 10 pin average is now 221, I've had umpteen 700+ series, 5 perfect games and 3 800 series.

I could have been my own team :D

PS been bowling now for 47 years...man I'm old.:(

I resurrecting this thread so we can get organized *ignores mutters of disbelief from general public* for this.

We are definitely on for Thursday Night, 9-11 PM. Contract has been signed and Credit Card number provided.

Right now I show 31 Forumites saying they want to, and 9 maybes. As I have contracted from 16 Lanes (total $640), I'd like to have 64 bowlers and since I don't think we can get that many bowlers, I am going to drop Jeff Wagg a note asking for some publicity on the TAM7 site, so the rest of the TAM7 goers can plan for this.

I'll try to have space around the Registration Desk Thursday afternoon if possible to sign people up (if we go over 64, I'll try to get more lanes, but no promises). The folks below will have priority, but they'll still need to check in.

One note, the lanes run automatically, so be at the Bowling Center NO LATER THAN 8:45PM. That will allow you to get your shoes, find a suitable bowling ball, and be at your lane when they turn on, so we get full value for our money.

COST is $10 minimum, plus I will ask for $10 for the JREF, so a total of $20 Max per person--not a bad deal for Vegas.

TEAMS--If you want to organize in teams of 4, go ahead--otherwise I'll just split you up based on registration time (and my own personal whims, heheheheh....:eek:). No more than four per lane. We'll try to get two games per team in the two hours, but come 11PM the lanes will shut down no matter how much bowling you have done.

SORRY, NO TROPHIES--I just do not have the time or energy to do anything this time around. Maybe next year.

So there you have it. Anyone want to do more, let me know and I'll back you, but again my time is more limited than I thought it would be, so we'll settle for bowling and some fun.

Non-Bowlers are welcome to come watch and make fun of our efforts...but beware, I have a bad habit of letting go on the backswing in the direction of any hecklers...:boxedin::cool:

I'll be on Team Pink or Team Suck if either one of them isn't full.....otherwise I'll take any team of course. I have my own pink bowling ball, but I don't want to carry that on the plane......:D I will bring my pink bowling shoes however. :p
 
If we can scrape up the money, it would be great to bowl, but I figure we will be watching from the sidelines.

Pink bowling shoes?? damn, I'm jealous. I found a stylin' bowling shirt at Goodwill that I'm bringing.

If there's room, my wife will bowl, too, but she would be happy to give someone else her spot if there's not room.
 
I feel a little abashed admitting this, but I was the original founding member of Team Suck, and to be honest, I originally made the reference as a joke. As in, whatever team I'm on, that's Team Suck. I had no idea it would actually catch on as a name!

At any rate, I may have to hand the reins over to someone else on the bowling front. I'd love to attend and watch the tournament, but I have no idea how much physical energy I'm going to have, and I also am going to try to avoid activities where I have to run on slick surfaces. I'm sorry to let people down. :(
