Yes, Kathy, questioning things is a good thing. A very good thing.

If nobody had ever questioned anything, where would we be now? Still looking up at the sky in fear when it thunders, wondering how to appease the great gods above who we must have angered. Somebody, sometime, had to question whether that was really what thunder was all about. And now we know exactly what causes it.

Just like we now know why the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, because somebody questioned the idea that the sun revolved around us. Something about it just didn't quite make sense to them, and they looked around and saw evidence that perhaps what they had been taught and raised to believe might not be quite accurate. They did some studying, performed some experiments, and voila! Earth revolves around sun. Basic scientific principles that began with someone [b/questioning something[/b]!

So you can live your life just blindly believing whatever you're told by your church and your pastor, closing your eyes and covering your ears and saying "la la la la la la" whenever you hear something that might call your beliefs into question. The rest of us prefer to question what we've been told to see what might be behind the curtain. And we're happy to do so. And sad for you.

Fine, but this could be said about various works of fiction. The kids' tV series 'Ivor The Engine', for example, was set in Wales. Wales is a real place. There is evidence to suggest that it has been a real place since before the classic TV series was written. It seems therefore, that Ivor the Engine must be a true story. Actually, the scenery in the Roadrunner cartoons looks pretty convincing too... (unlike Trumpton and Camberwick Green (Google them:)), which were clearly trying to hoodwink us with their fictional locations! How foolish do they think we are??)

Look, no disrespect, but the basis of your whole theory is that we believe that the book upon which you base your argument was written or inspired by God himself. If we fail to believe this, then your whole argument loses all foundation and falls apart.
I am absolutely supportive of anyone's right to believe in what they want, but I get a little bit tetchy when they tell me that I am wrong for not believing in it myself, and that this will lead me to some form of eternal torment.

I'm just funny like that I suppose.

Oh so you don't think Christians have questions about anything? We are always asking for more wisdom and understanding that's why we are dedicated to study the scriptures, and we consider our pastors who teach Gods word right a gift from God.

Why would you think our faith is blind? It is certainly not blind faith that we have when we follow Christ. He sends us the Holy Spirit which leads and guides us. So what's do you pity? I have the gift of the Holy Spirt my friend, you just have no idea what you are missing out on, NONE! Christians may not know everything, but we know the one that does and he is not a liar. Better to believe God than not.

Christianity has stood the test of time and in the end every knee will bow and every toungue confess Jesus is Lord!

It's only better if God exists, and the god you believe in is the one that exists. If there is a god of truth, he should be revealed by truth.

You're still promoting belief. How do you expect to get truth out of belief?

Let's put it another way. How would a god of lies possibly manifest itself? How would it convince you to refrain from truth? What better way than for it to trick you into simply putting your trust in it, and to simply ask that you believe, if one is so disposed as to actually take him up on it?

This is the sort of god you're promoting. It looks exactly like a god of lies would look. So what reason can you give us to take your god seriously?

Does your god want to look like a god of lies? Does he not value people who have a higher standard for truth? Does he not, in fact, value truth?

Stop asking for belief. Only a god of lies would demand such things.

Many of the people who claim to know what God thinks and what God wants definitely are liars
Better to believe God than not.
