Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

so i'm a lousy typist, i fixed it. Darwinism is anti-god and it's been proven wrong by 100's of scientist. If you want to know who they are then start researching because you can't miss it. I will say i did find lee strobels "case for the creator" very helpful.

liar liar liar

There is no way the Apostles would have lied, they were called and chosen to start the church of Christ and it's still growing today because Jesus is very much alive. It's a Spirit thing, you could only understand if you had Jesus yourselves.

Why would they not have lied? It is after all a christian tradition.

Now, now, there's no evidence that KK is a liar. Misled by liars, for sure, but as of yet she has not given us any evidence that she actually has independent thought which would be necessary to lie.
Well, she did claim that she could grasp science, yet when asked she refused to answer and the answers she did give were completely illogical and wrong.

She also agreed to read a book of Hokulele's choosing, but turned out that she hadn't.

So, I do not think calling her a liar is wrong. She does seem to lie.

Well, I never said Jefferson believed Christ was divine, or he was a mainline Christian. But he did think of himself as a Christian. He was also very turned off by the clergy of his day, and he probably had some justification for that.

This is thoroughly off topic, but none of what you just wrote has any bearing on Christianity or Thomas Jefferson as a Christian. Jefferson was a cultural Christian. He did not abide by any of the theology. When it comes to a religious definition, he was not a Christian. He was Christian only in the sense that he shared the cultural concerns of those around him.

I used to "have Jesus". I was a charismatic Christian for about 5 years and a mainline Christian for about 10 prior to that. The problem is, is that I took the Bible's advice and went and "tested the spirit" and found Christianity wanting. Never assume that you have a lock on the whole Spirit thing.

It's very possible that the Apostles (either all eleven - since Judas never had a chance to communicate anything - or a few) played fast and loose to garner support in an environment that was neutral to hostile towards them. this is especially true once you realize that nothing was written down for ~40 years at a minimum after Jesus' death. Plenty of time for memories to be altered, facts to be forgotten, new ideas created.

I meant the specific lie about "the hundreds of scientists who have proved Darwinism wrong" You are right though,it's not her fault,it's just one of the lies that have been drummed into her at her cult's brainwashing sessions.

Maybe, but I highly doubt she's lying when she spouts her tripe about Darwin and evolution or science in general. It's too pat, to similar to every other creationist rant. She's being fed a line, and not knowing how to analyze the data, she just regurgitates.

And not following through on a promise doesn't make her a liar, just untrustworthy. She very well could have indented to read the book, but got way-layed on the way to the book store by something important, like a prayer meeting. Or her weekly meeting of St. Trinian's Sewing Circle. Maybe God told her not to do it, that he'd beam the info directly into her brain via a pink ray of light.

Never assume malice when stupidity is just as a viable reason.

Then why in Mark's gospel on 2 separate occasions does a voice come down from heaven saying this is my beloved Son when Jesus is present? And why in Mark does Jesus predict he will be raised from the dead in 3 days? And why in all the gospels does Jesus say or imply he is the Christ or Messiah?

This is no way implies that he is God himself.

A lie need not be pre-meditated.

I understand your point here, but I can't help but think that KK knew she was lying when she said she could grasp science. Why else did she start explaining her motherhood anad then challenged my wife's credentials.

See, I think she was telling the total truth when she made that claim. She's been spoon fed a meal of lies, packaged as the Gospel Truthtm (pun intended), and doesn't see the need to question what her alleged teachers are giving her.

As for the deflect to motherhood? It's something she really does know. Science is big and scary and run by Satan's minions (you know, people like you and me), while motherhood is God's Gift To Women. It is their sacrament.

Why she challenged your wife's credentials? Again, I don't think it's malicious. She knows a certain pattern. Your wife breaks KK's very limited pattern, therefore there must be something wrong with your wife. You keep trying to interpret KK's statements with a flexible worldview. Calcify our mind a bit and you'll start to see the world through her rose colored stained glass windows.

'Not malice'?

Jefferson seemed to practice what some call Cafeteria Christianity: I'll take a little of this and a little of that.
And you don't, how else can one buy into the bible as the word of a so-called god if one doesn't pick and choose. Unless one knows almost nothing of the universe that one lives in.

Paul

:) :) :)

Nothing in the bible says that your Jesus was against slavery, that women are the equal of men if not more so.

Malice isn't a prerequisite for something to be a lie.

If you were to tell me, "You look great." (even though I didn't), that would be a lie. The lie was meant out of kindness, but it was still a lie.

Pax, I said it a long time ago but I want to say it again. Seems to me there are 2 kinds of people in this world,
1.Those like Doc and me that know it's true and take it on faith and then we make all these incredible discoveries that confirm it even more.
Of course, people like you and DOC totally ignore the fact that this is exactly what believers of other religious faiths say as well.

The Bible is a love letter!
"Love me or I will destroy you!"
