Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth.

I am pleased to see that so much progress has been made helping our fallacy besodden visitor to see the irrationality that is his argumentation tactic. I can almost see an iota of reason creeping into DOC's arguments.

Or maybe that's just a bit of beef from this night's dinner. That last tankard of ale?

Very thorough... OCD-ishly so perhaps

However, despite repeated requests, you still haven't answered my question
In fairness, I think he's trying to. I don't think DOC understands the full ramifications of your question. That's why I asked my more direct, clearer version.

DOC: Here is a restatement of Six7's question:
DOC, correct me where I'm wrong. You're saying that the Bible is "the most moral teaching ever known to man", but also that it can't be taken at face value, and you need to remember that some morals in the Bible are only correct for their time, or that Jesus needed to make some moral concessions in order to get his overall point across.

Is this what you think?

Is this That you think?

and if so, how do you know that Jesus doesn't also find homosexuality moral?

and if so, how do you know that Jesus doesn't also find homosexuality moral?

Well, let's not jump ahead to questions like that. First I just want to know if DOC agrees with my summary of his position. We can't make any progress until we can get him to be clear about what exactly his position is, first.

certainly a wise thing for a man to do. But are we talking about Jesus as a man or Jesus as a god (which is what DOC believes?).

If Jesus was a god, and god played verbal games to avoid getting into trouble, what Kind of lesson am I to gain from such a god?

No objections there.

What are you referring to with this statement? Jesus could not be trapped into saying something the Pharasees wanted to use against him, he is God so he knows everyone thoughts and motives.

And the reason for the parables I guess is because only he who has an ear can respond to the Holy Spirit. Can you even grasp what that means? Jesus's sheep hear his voice but for those who are perishing the message of the cross is foolishness. I suggest now would be a good time for everyone to seek the Lord while he still may be found.

There is more evidence for the Resurrection than there is that a living cell can be created over time from non-living chemicals. The reason being it has never been proved in an experiment and yet you have no problem believing this unproven theory.

We've already talked extensively about the Resurrection in this thread. I don't have the time to do it again when there are many other posts I have to respond to, especially to a person that has called me a vile twit (or whatever it was) and a liar. If you want to rebut arguments about the evidence of the resurrection, rebut the arguments from this site:

Hi Doc, You are getting the same treatment I have gotten on jref but we do know the truth that sets us free. There is plenty of evidence of Jesus in his world he created and only those who are lost deny it.

Keep up the good fight of faith Doc, I pray our efforts here on jref someday the Lord can use. In these earthen vessels the Lord reveals his glory! Men and Women are created in the image of God but the beauty of life is it's mystery. Jesus is Lord and he alone gives meaning to it!

Jesus created the world? I think you may be a little confused, theologically speaking. However, if you have evidence, please go ahead and share it.

'Oo are you calling 'eathen?

Oooops I really should not try to stay up so late typing as I always have typos. Thanks for the help I fixed eathen to earthen.

As for the creation of the world just start with the planet. Do you not find it astounding that earth is different than all other planets created just for us to inhabit? No other planet is like ours and that shows obvious to me God created it just for us. There is more scientific documentary help out there on just this one subject. I find Moody institute did one of the best ones on this.

also Romans 1:19-20 says since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse

Kathy, ask your pastor about the incarnation and kenosis - the latter is the idea of Jesus, the second part of the trinity, emptying himself to become a human. Jesus was fully human, not a superman.

You're from Pompey aren't you - I don't think you can really deny 'eathen charges.

:p
Oi, mush, I resemble that remark.

Fascinating. What does any of this have to do with your claim that Jesus created the world? I don't think even the bible makes that claim. I'd rather not get side-tracked into explaining the various fallacies and non sequiturs in your statement.

To be fair to Kathy, the beginning of the Gospel of John talks about the Word, understood to be the second part of the trinity, being involved in creation; this is not the same though, as the incarnated Jesus setting off the Big Bang etc.

Do you not find it astounding that earth is different than all other planets created just for us to inhabit?
Go and inhabit the South Pole, see how long you last there, or the highest mountain, or in the ocean, try a desert, or standing in front of a lion. See how that works for you. There are way more bad places to live on the earth then good.

Also it seems funny that you don’t know how hard it is to find other planets the size of the earth, with all you knowledge of science.

Paul

:) :) :)

Actually, no. I'd say that the negative treatment that DOC does receive on occasion is different from yours. DOC generally doesn't deserve it. However, you have made several insulting comments to members of JREF, and as such reap what you sow.

There is plenty of evidence of Jesus in his world he created and only those who are lost deny it.
Present it. Simply saying it is so, doesn't make it so.

Keep up the good fight of faith Doc, I pray our efforts here on jref someday the Lord can use.
By good fight, do you mean the use of logical fallacy and special pleading? Would it be a "good fight" if DOC was using the same arguments speaking for Mormonism, Hinduism, Muslim?

But he did suppedly also perform miracles. So, how is this supposed to work out. He had to lose a lot of his powers to become human, but not all of them? Why?
I can see the explanations made for a comic book, but we're talking about god. Why are there any limitations?
