Nope, you lost your way with your last sentence.
You have also failed to consider your time horizon.
Let us say you remove the top picture, and you six months later fertilize again and by not removing it, but letting it grow in due course, have a baby.
Funny, it's "exactly the same" as your second picture, except six months younger. My exactly the same kicks your exactly the same's arse, since the time differential between yours is three to four years, and mine six months.
It is not exactly the same at all. It would not be the same child. It would be a different child. And yes, it would be different even assuming the parents are the same people.
Clearly you do not understand biology or physics very well.
ETA: Sheesh... come to think of it, you must never have had brothers or sisters.
Do you see where your mistake was, with your words and less than intelligent appeals to emotion, and your failure to examine your reasoning critically?
Attempting to claim that my argument lacked intellect is a fallacy.
Do you see that it is a fallacy?
Can you admit to making a fallacy even though Piero cannot?
Lastly, I made no attempt to deny that my appeal in this thread is based upon emotion AND upon logic.
The Logic:
Science presents quite accurate models of biology and genetics. Reproduction and anatomy. Scientifically, we can describe how babies are made. The process is neither spontaneous nor magical. But- The process is ongoing, without the clear definition of lines that we would prefer to have.
For example: A fetus in one womb may develop the nervous system much sooner than a fetus in another womb.
The last Known Good Point is conception. Every line drawn thereafter is based upon speculation.
I agreed that a cluster of cells is not a person.
I agreed that it is not until the fetus has reached a late stage that it could be called a child or a baby.
As demonstrated above, the genetics at work have already landed in the pattern. A later conception will not have the same exact results.
The emotion:
Being human is more than just logic.
I have a son and in having a son, I understand the power of such emotion. I understand that I would grieve were he lost. If he were to go today, I would grieve, not just for him but for the future he never fulfilled. I pity Piero for not understanding that concept.
I understand that he is unique- In that your above example fails. I would not have produced the same exact result 6 months later.
I understand that a zygote is not a person.
But I also know that a zygote will become a person- it is merely the beginning.
If I start at University, that first day is the beginning. It is not yet my college degree. But I am not going to fail to study and slough off my exams- simply because they are not yet my degree. I must allow them the time to become my degree.
Claiming that I failed to examine my argument critically is also a fallacy. Your only offered evidence was your own lack of understanding of genetics and biology.
You can make unsupported claims until you're blue in the face. The attempt seeks to undermine my argument by persuading readers that I did, in fact, fail to think critically. But unless you can actually demonstrate that I have done so, your post will only read as a series of emotional ad hominem attacks.
Save your self congratulations until they are actually earned. And to think you tried to insult my intelligence...
