It's a pretty good try. The personal attack and the possible implied attack on Australia would get a rise out of a lot of people, and they'd get drawn into an irrelevant argument about rockets and whatnot. Then you could avoid talking about the OP completely, which might be what you really want.

There are many areas of Gaza completely wrecked and the wreckage is akin to carpet bombing.

No, the wreckage is precisely what happens when modern weapons hit targets: destruction of the target, with typically variable damage to the locale around the target, which is a local/point area.

When one coddles deliberate falsehood, and ignorance, one directly contradicts the goals and missions of the JREF. When one permits deliberate falsehood to stand unchallenged, on reduces the educational value of this subset of the JREF mission.

Your usual critique of my problems with style -- failure to maintain friendly and lively in this case -- is noted in advance. I'll accept the chastisement, and answer it with a question: is the mission more important, or is the style?

An inverse of that is the matter of trying to preserve, and establish, The Lie. 1. Had actual carpet bombing been used, the dead among the Pals would have been in five figures, possibly six, and the horror any of us would have felt over the fight in Gaza would have dwarfed what Tim is trying to incite here.

2. The IAF uses modern guided bombs for similar reasons to why the US and NATO allies do: to avoid the gross loss of life that comes from such antiquated tactics/techniques as carpet bombing.

See the Eighth Air Force, WW II, or Rolling Thunder, or as I noted previously, 1991 and the deliberate us of Buffs (B-52's) in Desert Storm in a particular time and place to get a particular effect. (It worked)
