It's called a storyboard.
Directors have quick sketches drawn up of the proposed scene.
Includes the main actors, the background, set pieces, etc.
In this case, they are in order: Patty, a sloping forested hillside, and an open set with downed trees and root systems.
Holy crap, I can't believe I never paid attention to the downed tree in Patterson's Roe drawing before. All that time I was focusing on how the Bigfoot looked instead of seeing what should have been obvious: the picture essentially depicts what's seen in the PGF long before the film was shot. I can't wait for the explanation for this from the proponent side. It'll probably be something about Bigfoot having an attraction to downed trees and logs, so it's only natural that Patterson filmed one that way.

Someone edited that wiki entry for you. While reading through it, I was interested to see that someone added in a bit about natives regarding "skookums" as being strictly supernatural.
