Where is the OP restricted to Muslim beheadings? You should read it before criticising people who you say ignore it.
Beheading? I thought that New York had a sword and Guillotine ban in place...
Actually that's true. In Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties it is illegal to carry or transport a sword that is not in a container, as in a full tied bag or latched box. When in a car the sword must be in either a container in the back seat or trunk, or in plain view in the back seat.
It's been said many times before, if you outlaw guillotines only outlaws will have guillotines. Is that what you want?
Yes, I think that I might of heard of something like that. Wasn't that implemented in an effort to bring an end to that dreadful rash of 'drive-by beheadings'???
In all seriousness, it is simply another stupid feel-good law at this point because there aren't any such restrictions on axes.
Hassan, who founded Bridges TV in 2004 to counter anti-Islam stereotypes following 9/11, turned himself in to cops Thursday in the Buffalo suburb of Orchard Park.
How on earth can a beheading not be premeditated murder? You just flew into a rage and in a fit of anger, spontaneously decided to cut her head off? WTF? How could this possibly not be First Degree Murder?
That was my first thought as well. Having watched a clip of one of the beheadings from Iraq a few years back, it took a substantial effort to do it, and I see no way you could call a beheading a crime of passion and thus 2nd degree murder. The 2nd degree charge makes no sense.
Emphasis mine. The recent arrest of R&B star Chris Brown, who reportedly assaulted and threatened singer Rihanna, preventing her participation in the Grammys, has brought the ever-present issue of violence against women into the public spotlight once again.
"Everyone is talking about this case because it involves two popular recording artists, but the sad reality is that domestic violence and dating violence happen every day, even among young teens, and the impact is both far-reaching and under-reported," said Gandy.
The National Organization for Women denounces violence against women. Its top story on the linked page is:
Emphasis mine.
Entering "Hassan" into NOW's search engine turns up not a single reference to the beheading story.
Looks like Gandy's speaking from personal knowledge when she says nobody cares about violence against women when celebrities aren't involved.
So you sell machetes?
So what would be wrong with that? Just remember that old saying, "It's better to have a machete and not need it, than to need a machete and not have one"...

Depends. In my experience a lot of the time you are better off with a billhook or a pair of lopers.
So a celebrity assaulting another celebrity is more newsworthy, and more worthy of condemnation, than a guy sawing his wife's head off because it happens more often.Assualt is fairly common in such cases. Beheading is uncommon enough that it is not unreasonable for them to have other priorities.
Maybe the explanation is that NOW is afraid someone's going to show up at their headquarters door with a scimitar. And why is this horrendous story not all over the news? Is a Muslim woman's life not worth a five-minute report? This was, apparently, a terroristic version of "honor killing," a murder rooted in cultural notions about women's subordination to men. Are we now so respectful of the Muslim's religion that we soft-peddle [sic] atrocities committed in it's [sic] name? Millions of women in this country are maimed and killed by their husbands or partners. Had this awful murder been perpetrated by a African American, a Latino, a Jew, or a Catholic, the story would be flooding the airwaves. What is this deafening silence?
