I don't think SETI actually holds radio astronomy as a preconception, rather our best chance to actually detect alien life. Can you think of a better method to detect life many light years away given current technology?

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet since I searched but haven't had time to read the whole thread, but there is Optical SETI, OSETI.

There was a write up about it in one of the Planetary Society member publications that I got a few months ago. They can search large chunks of the sky at the same time looking for light signals, much better then the narrow window of radio signals. Apparently they currently have a few suspect signals that they will check over again in the future.

You need to learn balance. I did praise you in a manner for at least presenting the image of changing your thoughts enough to consider ET life as not an impossibility. What you're doing now is not opening your mind so much as it is cracking your head open and letting your brain fall out. Take a moment, makaya, to imagine how it is for the posters that communicate with you. You flail wildly waffling all over the place but manage to do so coming off like a punk kid who thinks he knows everything. You never goive any manner of serious consideration to the arguments presented to you or put any actual thought into your responses. I am fully aware of everyone on the forum believing ufo's are simply man made and made up, But im talking about et life. Isnt it so ignorant and wooish to suggest that we arent the only life in the universe? Come on, does anyone see the incredibly complex events on earth that made it even POSSIBLE for the simplest of life to form? How can anyone believe it is even possible for 100's of unique events to happen just right on other planets. No, thank you. I'm not interested in teenage boys. Presenting the fallacies and contradictions of your posts is not stalking. I am only interested in countering poor arguments you make about Bigfoot and by extension aliens and UFO. Proof that I'm not interested instalking or badgering you is that you can see that for nearly the entire length of your alien life thread I did not participate. I only began to pariticipate regularly when you attempet to spin the argument into Bigfoot after someone presented you with the out to do so.

If you seriously think I may be stalking you on the board, there are two suggestions I have for you. Participate in a discussion in another part of the forum outside the GS&P or here in a topic that I'm not posting on. I vaguely recall seeing your handle beside an Obama related thread. Didn't see you there, didn't care. If something weird happens and you find me hounding you in parts of the forum outside the GS&P and alien/Bigfoot threads, you should make use of the report function and advise a moderator that you think I'm harrassing you. The forum is a big and organized place that has tools in place to help your experience here. The common theme I find with you, makaya, is that you make baseless claims and don't substantiate them. This I think is but one example.
