Just updated to Firefox 3.0.6 and then I couldn't get anything but Page Load Error! I ended up having to do a system restore to V3.0.5 and now it works again. Anyone else run into this?

I had the same problem although do not think it related. My wireless shut down and I had to restart it.

Oh, this happened to me, twice. One one computer, I got a similar error (actually it crashed my computer), so I rebooted and it worked. On the other, I got an error that didn't crash the computer, so I downloaded Firefox manually from their website (using IE) and installed. It works too.

When my Firefox wouldn't load I couldn't get IE to work at all. I'd try to open it and it would just freeze before loading anything every time.

I downloaded it a couple days ago and installed it without a hitch. Got my copy of the Portable Apps version, but haven't installed it yet.

I don't claim to be an expert, but since you've done a system restore, can you just download and install Firefox manually?

Well that is strange, have you got a way to get a cd of MalWareBytes or SuperAntiSpyware.

I tend to toot this horn because a lot of my machines at work get goobered up by them, some trojans shut down the internet in interesting ways.

It could also be that you have a configuration issue. Good luck, does the machine boot otherwise. Can you uninstall FireFox?

Is Norton Antivirus running on your system? I remember a similar problem with FF3.0.3 and Norton.

I had the same issue once upgrading from Firefox 2.x to 2.x+1 (can't remember the exact version). After upgrading, Firefox just returned a page load error. Checked everything I could think of, including disabling the firewall (Bullguard). Still didn't work. But IE and Thunderbird continued to connect ok.

Same as you, I reinstalled the old version and it worked. I didn't upgrade again until the next release.

I'm just about to upgrade from 3.0.5 to 3.0.6. Let's see how it goes.

ETA: It worked fine.

Actually this is another issue that bugs me. My computer came with Norton installed. It has expired and I was going to use another service provided by my ISP which is generally regarded as pretty good. However I need to uninstall Norton first and the damned thing just won't do it. No matter what I do, or how I log on, it says I don't have permission to do it or that the program is active and needs to be closed.

Very frustrating.

About my original issue. When FF upgraded it said the upgrade had experienced problems because of something called DNA or BTDNA or something like that. So I wonder if the upgrade had caused an issue with another service running in Windows.

3.0.7 is working fine for me. Now if I could just get video sites that use Move Media Player to work in FF....
