Gaza villages Wiped off the map

Hamas...is the enemy of the Palestinian people. This would NOT have happened if Fatah as still in control of Gaza.
The problem is that Fatah were (and still are, I believe) so corrupt that Blago would seem like a model public servant. Hamas, for all of their horrific views and their death-bringing political strategy, are not corrupt. If it was not for the boycott from Israel as well as the West and even part of the Arab world, Hamas would probably have made for a better government than Fatah (at least in the short term).

Oh, but why are the Israelis complaining then? If only they made peace with Hamas, they wouldn't have to worry about those rockets anymore!

Hey, you should be awarded with the Nobel Peace Price for this amazing discovery!

Israeli requirements for peace = cessation of attacks

Hamas requirements for peace = mass suicide

You forgot.

Israel reserves the right to control and define your borders in perpetuity.
Israel reserves the right to take or steal land at will.
Israel reserves the right to control your movements and passage at will.
Israel reserves the right to control your access to water, with Palestinians alloted less water than Israelis.

Israel does demand that you don't use force in response to these demands, but aquiesce to them and take what you are given.

What a unique person said.

I suppose that by definition if there are no attacks there is peace. That does not imply there is justice, however.

I've never heard an argument that consists of so much fecal matter.

What a load of complete nonsense.

Israel's requirements for peace is the complete removal of the Palestinians from Palestine.

(Shrug)

When Israel was in Gaza, it was an evil occupier. Now that Israel isn't in Gaza, it's "ghettoizing" it. Obviously the only acceptable behavior on Israel's part is to both be contantly attacked by rockets and let Hamas get any sort of ammunition and weapons it likes throught the border. Anything else is "Nazi-like opression". Of course, if Israel does do just that, the sole result would be that that, too, would not be enough, and it would still be declared the "opressor" for some other reason.

As for the "Warsaw ghetto" analogy, first, it is obviously absurd to compare conditions in Gaza to the conditions in the ghetto. If this is not clear on the face of it, I may mention, say, the lack of deportations of Palestinians to extermination camps, supplying them with food, water, and electricity, not passing a law making it illegal for Palestinians to have children, and a few other minor dissimilarities.

That aside, for the analogy to work one would have to assume that the goal of the Jewish fighters in the ghetto had in store for the Germans was analogous to the goal Hamas has for the Jews: to wit, that the the Jewish fighters wanted to wipe Germany off the face of the earth, kill all Germans, and establish a Jews-only state run by Jewish religious law in its place. That's news for me. I thought it was rather the other way around: the Germans were trying to wipe off the Jews, not the Jews trying to wipe out the Germans.

But hey, there is one similarity between the Jewish treatment of the Palestinians in Gaza and the German treatment of the Jews in Warsaw: the Jews try to stop the Palestinians from smuggling weapons into Gaza, the Germans tried to stop the Jews from getting weapons into the ghetto. But since that is more or less the only significant similarity, one should in fairness claim that everybody who tries to stop some group from smuggling weapons into some area is ipso facto like the Nazis in the Warsaw ghetto. So the local school principal or airport security officer or Wal-Mart store owner are all just like the Nazis, since all attempt to stop people from smuggling weapons into their school, airport, or shop.

Ah, if only the poor opressed students, passangers, and customers had tunnels and rockets!

Of course not. How can there be justice as long as the evil Zionist entity still exists? Just ask Arafat or Hamas, they'll tell you it's impossible.

The Arab demand for a "just peace" is -- as both Hamas and Arafat repeatedly said -- merely means the destruction of Israel, immediately if possible, by stages if necessary.

You are quite right, however, that for the Palestinians, "peace without justice" -- stopping attacks on Jews before expelling or killing them all -- is quite intolerable, as they repeatedly declared.

You have to be one of the most gullible people I know.

Do you want to buy a bridge? I have one for sale, the Brooklyn model...

Well, from the context, Merko seems to mean not that Hamas isn't corrupt at all, but that Hamas is less corrupt than the PLO. That's probably true -- it's hard to be more corrupt than the PLO, after all, no matter how hard one tries.

The irnoic things is that the only villages truly wiped off the map in Gaza were the Israeli settlements. When Israel left Gaza, it left much of them, esp. the agricultural facilities, intact for the Palestinians to use if they wanted. Hamas' mobs razed them to the ground in mob violence.

Hamas' spokesman, incidentally, claimed that leaving the settlements intact for Palestinian use was an evil Zionist plot, to make the Palestinians look bad when pictures of mobs of Palestinians destoying any vestige of Jewish presence with glee reaches the press.

But I'm sure this is all the Jews' fault. Somehow.

what a stupid...and false...thing to say.

Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians 93% of the West Bank and all of Gaza.

Ehud Olmert offered the Palestinians the same number a few months ago.

And yet, the Palestinians still say "NO!!!!!".

Your contention about the Israelis wanting to remove all the Palestinians has been debunked time and time again. Why do you continue to spread this lie?

Do you feel unable to win this debate if you are forced to only use honest facts and data???

What does this have to do with the OP or even the thread in general?

............

I can't respond to this without risking being modded, so I guess I'll slowly walk away. But before I do, I'll just mention that factoid about Hamas stealing UN aid. Yeah, no corruption there.

I find an army that consciously targets civilians and NOT enemy combatants to be morally bankrupt and corrupt beyond the pale. They someday will face war crimes trials for their actions.

parky just likes to write using... 3 dots.

He thinks it gives... dramatic effect.

what does this have to do with the topic of thread?

WildCat just likes to make personal attacks when he has nothing useful to say.

'Offered them' something that was their's in the first place? I'd tell them **** Off as well. Barak and Olmert can go **** themselves!!

Are you contending that Israel doesn't want to take the lot, despite the evidence to the contrary? Are you saying Israel is forever going to be happy with a two state solution in Palestine?

Debunked my eye!! Stop believing the nonsense that comes out of Politician's mouths. Israel's long term agenda is to take the lot and you damn well know it.
