Inauguration photo

Gee, I never saw that many sad faces in one place.

and either the Pleiadian Galactic Ambassador, or a politician who forgot to leave his other face at home...
Definitely some bad stitching in the picture. Aretha Franklin has the worst case of double chins I've ever seen. Right next to a mysterious floating hat, too.

Is it wrong that I find Thomas to be scarier?

Edit for 2 things:

1) Scalia's hat is adorable.

2) Thomas and Scalia joined at the hip as always.

Much is made of this as supposedly being evidence that Thomas is just Scalia's dumb sock puppet. And yet, in cases where the court did not rule unanimously:

  • Thoma agreed with Scalia 75% of the time;
  • Scalia agreed with Roberts 79% of the time;
  • Roberts agreed with Alito 83% OTT;
  • Roberts agreed with Kennedy 74% OTT;
  • Alito agreed with Kennedy 77% OTT;
  • Breyer agreed with Souter 70% OTT;
  • Souter agreed with Ginsburg 77% OTT;
  • Ginsburg agreed with Stevens 73% OTT.
Source. The full article is pretty interesting, from a mathematical point of view.

Thomas's voting vis a vis Scalia's is not at all remarkable, in context.

I didn't mean to imply that Thomas was sock puppet, only that he and Scalia agree a lot. Turns out I was right.

Also seems that trend is common in the SCOTUS. Not shocked by that either.

Edit: Heh. Thomas and Stevens agree 11% of the time.

Side note: On a personal level Scalia prefers Ginsburg. Go figure.

Everyone on the court agrees with someone else a lot. But it seems people only find Thomas's concordance with Scalia remarkable.

Why is that?

I love the look on Bush's face.

Also Emperor Palpitane is sitting about five rows above Thomas slightly to the left.
