How would you fake a bigfoot track?

And where is the evidence that any track was made by anything heavier than a human being?

And where is his evidence that tracks can only be fabricated by strapping on fake feet?

Yes. Do you realize that carrying 30 pounds on each foot walking is hard? Try doing it up and down hills, through dense brush and vegetation

I'm a member of the society for creative anachronism and my armor kit (Barrel helm, aventail, Knee-length Hauberk, pauldrons, articulated plate arms & legs PLUS a full sized heater shield and weapon) comes out to 125lbs (70lbs of which is the Hauberk). I have spent hours in that kit fighting & moving through brush & vegetation as well as going up and down hills. 60lbs of boots seems kinda tame...

The normal kit for US infantry is more than 60 lbs is it not?

Under current doctrine ( ref FM 7-70, Light Infantry Platoon/Squad) the actual load a soldier can carry safely is directly related to size/bodyweight.

The "combat load" should not exceed 48lbs and the "march load" should not exceed 72lbs.

These are guidelines and actual mission requirements may vary ( to the high side)

Frequently, a soldier is toting well in excess of 125lbs for short durations or for marches where contact is unlikely. You cant move and fight carrying all that crap.

I'm 300lbs, I have a friend who is about 400 lbs. Both of us go hiking. There are hills hiking. How on earth do you figure that the 30 lbs has to be entirely part of the foot?

Wouldn't 30 lbs of feathers be lighter? :duck:

Well sure, but it's darn near impossible to make fake feet with feathers. They keep trying to fly away.

By the way, with 20 lb ankle weights available, I'm not sure 30 lb lead feet would be unusually difficult for some to lift. And the plastic ones would be even easier. :D Our young footer makes the same mistake many make, and that's judge the difficulty/possibility of something according to whether or not he can do it. If I did that, it would be darned near impossible for anyone to do anything. :)

Is it easy? No. is it possible? Yes

btw tyr, i thought you said you weighed 260?

makaya, haven't you ever thought about how you'd fake a bigfoot track or trackway?

I'll give you one hint to help you out. If you wrap your own shoes in something soft, such as burlap, you can eliminate your own footprints most of the time.

There are lots of ways to make fake tracks, and lots of ways to keep from showing your own footprints.

It's not really necessary to make yourself heavy. Making yourself light is more useful...

You actually don`t need to conceal your footprints. Just say you`ve made them while checking the bigfoot tracks (taking measurements, pictures, making plaster casts, following them for three miles, looking for hair, etc.). Or say they were from juvenile bigfeet.

So all tracks are dismissed out of hand without looking at them first hand?

Yet to make a deep track in hard soil, whatever is making it is likely on the scale of inhuman proportions.
