Bush will write a book

OK... so... what, in your opinion, is the point?

My point was the next sentence that you quoted.

The jokes aren't necessarily old

Bush will go down in history for trotting out blunder after blunder, goof after goof, inanity after inanity, lie after lie, etc

So those intent on making light of the disaster zone that is/was Hurricane George have never been short of fresh material

"Fresh material"? Every joke in this thread has basically been "Bush can't read lol". You call that fresh material? I'd hate to see your old material.

However, many of the jokes might be trite, predictable and pathetic... But then look at the subject matter

So you admit that I am right in that the jokes are old?

Childish...
...childish.
Why insult children?

...and you guys surely know he's not a simpleton as you make him out.
I don't "surely know" any such thing

I take it that you're implying his track record equates to someone of at least adequate intellect for the role of POTUS

If so, please provide examples that illustrate this notion

If not, please explain what you are implying

Thank you

Ummm... this thread is titled 'Bush will write a book', so it seems rather pertinent to focus on his literacy skills or lack thereof

So you admit that I am right in that the jokes are old?
No, of course I don't - as to do so would be to add straw to what seems nothing more than a ridiculous attempt to obfuscate the issues, one of which is, I think, that it is absurd to suggest that an idiot like Bush - with the perception and attention span of a goldfish - can be expected to accurately document his term in office

I have to agree with six7s on this one...

Childish, and you guys surely know he's not a simpleton as you make him out. Very sad.

...prove it. And what, in fact, is sad is that W was president for 8 years.

Thanks for keeping the seat warm and helping provide some unique challenges for the next guy; now, back to your ranch and your keg. Good riddance W.

A Little Help for a Recently Unemployed President...

Lo and behold, there seems to be help on the way for good ole W...

I take it you guys are aware of the definition of a simpleton? Are you seriously suggesting Bush is a simpleton? This is simply hyperbole.

Look, as naive and pointless/unwinnable a battle as it may seem, I am someone who wants very much to try to turn political discussion/activity in a more civil direction.

I'm a conservative. Many conservatives are being bitter and now "giving it back" to the Obama and the left. They are doing so because they are angry that the left gave Bush such a vicious beating the last 8 years. And the left feels it was fair to do that because the right gave it to Clinton, hardcore, all through the 90's. And the left gave it to Bush/Reagan.. and the right gave it to Carter.. and the left gave it to Ford and Nixon. It goes back forever.

This has gotten to be ridiculous, to me. It's like the constant ongoing issues between the west and the middle east. We can go back throughout history and point "but you did this first!" till the end of time. It accomplishes nothing.

I'm trying to break the cycle, at least for myself. I'm not going to give it back. I am very disturbed and angered by what I've seen over the last 8 years, and even in this thread. But I won't pass any further judgement, and I apologize if I was on a high horse again. But I'm sick of this vicious back and forth. And I'm sick of it being personal, and insulting, back and forth. It's childish. I'm sorry if you disagree with me, but that's how I feel. I wish we could all rise above this sort of thing.

Perhaps I do not know the definition of simpleton after all, everything I am finding is basically "lacking in common sense or intelligence" when I have always thought it meant something much worse, such as being so low in intelligence as to have it be debilitating.

But I know, that would still apply to Bush. Ya, ya. ;)

The whole world has seen my dog standing on the drivers seat of my car with his paws on the steering wheel. I assure you, this does not mean my dog is capable of driving the car :D

Lies! I am part of the world, yet I haven't seen your dog.

Bush is getting his beating, not for conservatism, but for partisanship above statesmanship, deceit, incompetence, and promoting the idea that non-intelligence is a virtue. Anybody thinking about being bitter about this might want to take a close and careful look at what Bush actually accomplished.

Did anybody see the Daily Show excerpts from Bush's final press conference where he identified some of his 'disappointments'? I suspect that his book will be more of the same. But heavily edited to remove all the funny.

I take you are aware of the definition of poetic licence?

Are you seriously suggesting Bush is a simpleton?
Yes

This is simply hyperbole.
So what?

Look, as naive and pointless/unwinnable a battle as it may seem, I am someone who wants very much to try to turn political discussion/activity in a more civil direction.
Tip: jumping to the defense of an infamous fool and liar is probably a misdirection of your time and energy

I'm a conservative.
What issues/aspects of life/etc are at the top of the list of things you want to conserve?

Many conservatives are being bitter and now "giving it back" to the Obama and the left.
And many liberals are dancing in the streets, over-joyed that there are clear indications that the majority of adults in one of the post powerful nations in the history of humanity do not necessarily endorse the barbarism and stupidity of the last eight years

They are doing so because they are angry that the left gave Bush such a vicious beating the last 8 years.
Their anger s a problem that only they can deal with

And the left feels it was fair to do that because <snip/>
Really? How do you know?

I'm trying to break the cycle, at least for myself. I'm not going to give it back.
Cool :)

Maybe you could make a start by suppressing the urge to make knee-jerk, angry, reactionary responses at a time when others are celebrating the beginning of a new period of hope

LOL Yep he is so dumb he kicked the democrat's collective butts for 8 years and they never laid a glove on him. All he did was drive them completely insane with hate as this thread proves.

as I recall, you and I agree on Israel and guns (for us). I fear Shrub is not something we agree on. I think (in reality) that he is at best mildly competant in the !00-110 IQ range and without a deep thought in his mind. The things he "did" were actually done by Cheney and Rove and their serviles, not Shrub. History will decide which of us is right on that. I am in no fear of it's ultimate decision.

Ok, he's not quite a simpleton. But he's on the level to manage a used car lot not be the POTUS. Bush is on the level of Sarah Palin. People you laugh at and not respect. His brain was mashed with booze. Palin's was mashed with religious cults and wonderful views of Russia from her house

Could I get everyone replying to this thread to list the number of hours they have in supersonic fighter jets?

Umm...wait; there was that weekend in San Diego..........and a week in...no wait, that was somebody else…

…OK; sum total including the aircraft that may or may not ‘technically’ be “supersonic” but are in spitting distance...and rounding up...the grand total is...............carry the 1: yup, 0 hours.
