I'm sorry Kit ... Did you ( or someone else ) deserve credit for that ?

I only noticed WP referring to it that way, and it took me a while to figure out what he meant ..

Death of a thread - birth of a name.

Oh my sweet epic PGF thread, farewell to you. I will miss those nights waiting 20 minutes watching my fingernails grow for you to load so I could look at your big giant butt. You had more views than the city I grew up in. 411 pages... wow. Maybe someday newbie Bigfoot enthusiasts will be admonished to go read the "411." I will think fondly of all the new JREF members you alarmed with your freakish size. I know it was some kind of record. We'll make a new one but it won't be the same. When it reaches 50 pages I will sigh, think of you, and be wistful.

But it was Kell that really gave the name...

BTW: do we get to wear "PGF411 - i poasted in an epic thraed!!11!1" t-shirts?

Nope. Kell was referring to what I called it. I remember very specifically choosing to refer to it as the PGF 411 and that likely no one would have the slightest clue what I was talking about. If they asked, I would just Rickroll them with the whopper.

To most people this would seem like the most banal thing. For people like WP and I who love popular culture that is decidely often unpopular, it matters.

PGF 411 is mine. Parcherfoot is yours. Goony goo goo! :D

If it's Detroit you are shooting for, then you have to make it clear that it is called the "Four-One-One PGF", and not the "Four-Eleven PGF". It is critical.

And to even take it a notch further phonetically:

"FO-WUN-WUN"

Parcher, Its obvious that Prohaska was involved with the pgf. I could imagine one of his big henchmen put on a skin tight suit and did "The patty walk"

Yeah, all those muscles come from putting a doctored mugato suit on over the gorn suit with the ape head from the Galileo 7.

The mystery is solved. Patty is a Trekkie who escaped from the Menagerie

Long, are you being sarcastic? Dont tell me "omg, thats impossible to fake!" bc that statement is simply bs. You can replicate muscle movement by wearing a spandex uniform with hair glued on to a large man, and use make up for the face.

Regarding the "411" thread:

I think I followed it from beginning to end, though I believe I may have missed parts of the beginning. An interesting cast of characters came and went. Some offered interesting ideas and evidence, and some simply spouted quasi-religious admonitions like "read Krantz".

Sadly, It's my belief that the signal to noise ratio there is actually quite low.

It's my belief that given what's been discovered and put together, a P&G FAQ is probably in order, with it being hosted on a private site. This would alleviate the inane dilution we see here, with 10,000 re-postings of a two-frame animation of "flexing fingers".

To be blunt, I'm not willing to do it. I've got my own agenda, which mostly involves dermal ridges:

http://www.orgoneresearch.com/dermalridges.htm

I've got other Bigfoot-related essays within a different section of my website, though the Bigfoot focus is somewhat diluted by literary sideshows like "The Homosexual Agenda of Gilligan's Island:

http://www.orgoneresearch.com/homosexual_agenda_of_gilliga.htm

Recently I learned that "Resident Photography Guru" Rick Noll was making the rather extraordinary claim that I was using a PVC "walking stick" while demonstrating the compliant gait. A response was in order, so I updated that page:

http://www.orgoneresearch.com/does_the_pattersongimlin_film_s.htm

My point is that it's really unrealistic to simply allude to "the 411" as a source of information. It's like Wikipedia with no search engine, or the Encyclopedia Britannica with no index, and neither of which is in alphabetical order.

To use a sports metaphor, the "411" needs a "highlight reel"; one that is hosted elsewhere, and is free from YouTube level commentary from anonymous trolls.

I get it now

your site has the guy in a gorn suit in a doctored mugato suit with a G7 head inside an elk suit. Thats why BH's memory is so whacked. He had a stroke from all that heat build up from wearing all those suits at the same time.

Tube - I agree that just sending people to the 411 thread is a bit flippant - I agree that it wood make a good project to filter out some of the fluff .. but like you - I just don't know when I would find the time..

It never ceases to amaze me what passed for reliable evidence till people like you and wolftrax, did some experimentation .. You are a true pioneer who blew a big hole in footery ..

It's funny how we never seem to hear much about prints anymore, except for the continual rehashing of the PGF prints.

It still beats me why anyone gives those clown feet prints a second look.

Any word on what Chillcut is doing these days ? I didn't see him on the Yakima round-up list .. Did I overlook him ..

It can be replicated by padding flap too

Dr. Meldrum,
Do you still maintain that you are finding Dermatoglyphics on plaster casts, or are you now stating that ridges on casts, may be attributed to casting artifacts?

Once in a while, I like to shoot an email to dr. Meldrum. I like to think it keeps him on his toes. Thanks Tube.

Can you clarify what you are saying? I believe you mean that if you glue hair to a spandex suit, and the resulting costume is worn by a large, muscular performer, the muscle movement will be visible through the costume.

If so - so what? Basically it's not a new suggestion as far as I'm aware. I doubt that's what is seen in the film though.

Does he ever answer any?

( I would love to play 20 questions with him and cross examine some of his "scientific deductions"- but that aint happening)

Yeah, its hard to search thru if you werent there from the beginning and have an idea of what to look for

We could call this thread the "second roll" in keeping with the hoax theme as the first one ran out of film. ( so to speak)

I was there for the whole thing and it's diificult for me to find stuff.

I believe WP is kinda' referencing Lu and other footers who would flippantly say things like "Read Krantz" in response to an inquiry from one of us scoftics...

No, I have no idea. I'm curious if he's aware of Anton's analysis of the Skookum Elk Cast. I suspect, but do not know, that he was willing to examine Jeff Meldrum's casts partly on the basis of Meldrum being an academic with a PhD. If so, it must give him pause to realize that the elk analysis of the Skookum cast is not coming from some backwoods goober who posts on the Internet, but a PhD, and one in the precisely relevant discipline.

That, and the fact that the correspondence between the features of a resting elk and those of the Skookum cast are sore-thumb obvious even to non-professionals, should at least give him pause.

Though it doesn't feature Chilcutt, here is the Animal X segment on YouTube where Jeff Meldrum puts dermals on the Skookum Elk Cast:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJWdh6MMto0

"For me personally, perhaps the most significant finding is the presence of what appear to be dermatoglyphics, which are the skin ridge patterns on the soles of the feet that are evident on these heel imprints."

Yeah right ! And those dermatoglyphics had a remarkable resemblance to the casting artifacts you identified in other casts...

P.S.
Chilcutt's recent silence in regard to matters Bigfoot, is deafening.. I guess that's what happens when you stake your reputation on something that turns out to be flawed ..

A Novel idea Tube (P&G FAQ), I personally could not do the leg work but I’d be more than happy to find a cost free host and manage/co-manage/not manage the site if others want to put something together. In other words I’d get it up and running, up-dates, edit, etc., contribute a little time.

I have a host that I use as a test site for clients on occasion to help illustrate ideas, layout etc., it’s down on occasion since they also use it for beta stuff (cost of being free) but for the most part it fly’s pretty straight. I think it’s 5 GB of disk and 50 GB of transfer (per month) that should be plenty for this show. It does flash, avi etc. 20mb max files.

Or better yet someone else could do it, let’s call that plan A.

Anyway, that’s how I could contribute, my office door is open.

Now tube, don't con me!

"Anton is a scientist who looks at animal tracings and determines things from them, what I don't really know since most of his work as really been about worms and he currently works in the oil industry." -- Rick Noll
Unlike Anton, Rick is qualified to identify bigfoot butt & nut prints.

"Standing in his mother-in-law's garage, where the latest breakthrough in Bigfoot research is stored, Mr. Noll's eyes gleam as he traces the outline in a 136-kilogram plaster cast. "There's where the cheeks are," he says. "And that's a heel mark and the Achilles tendon. We figure this is where its arm rested, as it turned on its side." Mr. Noll points out the fine ridges left by matted hair in the thigh -- and then points delicately to a double print between the cheeks, where the, uh, impressions were left that show this Sasquatch was male.

They are small. Judging by this cast, which is being heralded as the biggest find since 1967 when Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed what appeared to be a man in a gorilla suit, big feet do not equate to big testicles.

No matter. Mr. Noll, who machine tools aircraft parts for a living, says it's the little details that make what has become known as the Skookum Cast such a remarkable piece of evidence.

"I mean," he says standing back to look at it, "have you ever seen anything like that in your life?"
How was this remarkable piece of bigfoot history discovered?

"..Noll notices an unusual impression in the transition mud at the edge of the wallow and suddenly figures out what caused it. Fish and Randles note the shock of Noll's face and come over to have another look at what he's examining..."
