Would WTC 7 have survived the 1906 SF Earthquake?

“The first known instance of fire causing the total collapse of a tall building” - NIST.

Steel constructed high-rise buidings do not burn down.

Nope.

Which would you like to discuss that has ever totally collapsed except on 9/11?

Those steel frame buildings that were heavily damaged after they got hit by jets, which were flying full speed, loaded with fuel, which exploded and set the building on fire over multiple floors.

Wait. Which buildings were that again?

Name one other steel skyscraper that had large, multistory story fires that were not fought by firefighters or sprinklers for seven hours. Do it. I dare you.

Name another high-rise fire where they turned the fire alarms off just before the fire started, so the firemen weren't alerted. We are talkin' ARSON, baby!

So it wasn't the thermal expansion? Naw, it can't be!

Yes there is a first time for everything.

I don't believe that is what happened with the collape of the WTC buildings on 9/11.

Well, I do know the answer to that since I live in San Francisco, but that would be cheating to post it, I think. C'mon Galileo, what's the answer?

I moved out of San Fran back in the roaring 1960s, from the Haight-Ashbury district. I'll never forget that tall 16 story steel-framed building that survived the '06 quake & 3-day inferno.

It's a pitty that structures built in the 1890s were sturdier than WTC 7.

Did a 110 story skyscraper fall on that building?
