Last month the Lebanese army smashed an Israeli spy ring and discovered something that may have far reaching implications for another terrorist operation: the 9/11 attacks on the US. Two brothers, Ali and Youssef al-Jarrah, operating in Jlela region of the Beqaa Valley near the Syrian border, were found in possession of spying equipment while operating under the cover of the National Association for Medical Services and Vocational Training and claiming to run a humanitarian mission. Ali and Youssef al-Jarrah happen to be uncles of Ziad al-Jarrah, one of the hijackers of the 9/11 planes.

For anybody's who is wondering, I have no idea who is the source of this article, or how reliable muslimedia.com is. And I'm too tired to Google around, right now.

Ah, a dirt dumb 9/11 truth article. 7 years and still no logic evident in 9/11 truth.

Why make a hit and run of posting stupid and run? Is making a comment too time consuming as is understanding 9/11, or review the tripe you post?

Even if true, I say so what.

It's probably true that men by the name of Jarrah were arrested as spies for the Mossad but entirely possible, and I think likely that they are not related to Ziad at all. News sources in the Middle East are not exactly unbiased when it comes to Israel. They would have every reason to spin this to insunate that the Mossad had something to do with 9/11.

Also, I must wonder, are Mossad agents doing suicide missions to frame terrorists now?

And muslimedia.com definitely discredited themselves by saying UA93 was shot down by the USAF.

I like how the al-Jarrah family is apparently now an Italian-style crime family...

Are they related the same way the Chertoff who co-wrote the Popular Mechanics 9/11 debunking article was related to the Chertoff who was head of Homeland Security?

In other words, not related at all?

I was waiting to see if CT's will pick that up. It was published on Israeli media a while ago. Yes that Ali Jarrah guy was arrested for spying and yes, he's related to Ziad (they are from the same tribal family) although this is first time I read that he was his uncle.

As dtugg said, so what?

Yes, a post from a site called muslim-edia alleges the 911 MUSLIM Terrorists, had connections to Israeli Mossad.

Well I am convinced.

TAM;)

If Mohammed Atta was really just an Al Queada guy, and if he had been married, do you think that if the CIA found out that his wife was also a member, that they'd be interested in her as a possible 911 co-conspirator?

What about if Mohammed Atta had a brother who was a member of Al Queda? Would they be interested in him as a 911 co-conspirator?

If you say "no", then I don't see the point of continuing any discussion with you. You're either very , ahem, unclever, or else are deliberately playing dumb to derail this thread from the path of significance and rationality.

If you say "yes", then you should be able to easily infer why Mossad connections with a close relative (if these uncles are, indeed, close relatives) would be of interest. Such connections would not prove anything, in and of themselves, any more than a Mrs. Mohammed Atta being a member of Al Queda would prove anything, in and of itself. However, to a CIA agent (as well as to your typical 10 year old child), trying to understand 911, the existence of such relationships constitute ground for further inquiry. As I have pointed out elsewhere, the word "investigation" implies an iterative process - clues are followed, associations are probed, etc., etc., and in so doing, further clues are generated.

The abortive thought process implied in even asking such a question (I assume you're at least 10 years old) may reflect a psychological disposition, or else it may reflect a desire to derail from the path of significance and rationality, as mentioned above. However, another thought has occurred to me. Maybe debunkers suffer from abortive thought processes because of a complete inability to empathize. I don't mean in an emotional sense. I mean in the sense of they have great difficulty even imagining things from another person's perspective, where the other person is either an official enemy or even a "conspiracist". This is a hypothesis which could be tested by psychologists, I would think.

Strawman.

But thanks for playing.

Exactly what I think.

Yes they would be interested. But you see, we are no longer in the early after the attacks when investigators were looking for any piece of information to try and figure out who was behind them and how they were concieved.
We are now 7 years after the attacks and we know a lot about them. We know that they planned by KSM and Bin Laden in Afghanistan. We know that Ziad Jarrah and his three friends were recruited to Al-Qaida when they were in Hamburg, far away from their home and families. There is no evidence that either this Ali Jarrah or anyone else from Jarrah's family or anyone else from the rest of the Hamburg cell's members' families was involved in the attacks.

Yikes, no one here is stopping you from any avenue of investigation that you wish to persue. Travel to the Middle East, get the whole story on this family, blow the lid off 9/11, win the Pulitzer Prize. Why do you care what the folks on this forum think?

9/11 truth does not want a Pulitzer Prize, they refuse to present evidence; like the OP article.

9/11 truth is pure political trash talk, not a quest for truth. like the OP article

Wait....so there were hijackers then?

Oh good. I'm glad that's been cleared up at long last.

Hopefully this means we won't have to listen to any more "there were no hijackers; it was done by remote control!"

Derail removed to AAH. Stop bickering, and post on topic.

Interesting story. I'm sure truthers will want to be sure the Jarrah's "confessions" weren't obtained under torture before they begin to consider them, though.

NY Times also carrying this info

The NY Times now has an article on Ali al-Jarrah. Apparently, he's been spying for Israel since 1983.

It is not the family’s first brush with notoriety. One of Mr. Jarrah’s cousins, Ziad al-Jarrah, was among the 19 hijackers who carried out the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, though the men were 20 years apart in age and do not appear to have known each other well.

... and the last sentence in the portion of the article you quoted renders it completely irrelevant to this sub-forum.
