I know you guys may just have an answer for me here, its the first place I come in my fight against the woo. Just trying to save time!

The sound is fake.

It it was real, the same *bang* would be on more than one, maybe all video cameras in use on the morning of 9/11.

This YouTube comments show that this video was shot north of WTC, possibly as far away as Murray & Broadway, a thousand ft or more away from the nearest WTC building. The comments on the various YouTube videos give this as the location and show that it was filmed by one Lucia Davis, who was shooting elsewhere in the immediate vicinity. That was my stomping grounds, The corner shown in the video is consistent with the corner and the area.

If that explosion was as represented and that loud, it would have been heard by everyone below Canal St. It wasn't. That would have been maybe a million people.

This comments in this version of the video shows that it was filmed by Lucia Davis.

Davis is in IMDB. I'd love to find someone with a "pro" subscription and contact her and ask if she as heard that she is being put on YouTube, rarely with credit and possibly hacked.

I believe the YouTube video is clipped (without credit) from film. I haven't been able to view it but I bet the sounds are not on it and that a larger context will show that the instant the guy was on the phone was unrelated to any collapse.

Davis is mentioned in this tangential article I found when I was
trying to contact her.

The explosion is probably real, but it's insane to think that the explosion was caused by a BOMB going off. After the towers collapsed, hundreds of vehicles were set on fire and were exploding randomly throughout the rest of the day. The collapses also damaged underground gas lines, setting off random explosions. There's no doubt that there were random explosions going off after the towers collapsed. This should be expected.

However, controlled demolitions set off explosives in the seconds prior to collapse, not long after the building has already collapsed. That's insane. What would be the point? Again, we know that there were explosions going off after the Twin Towers had collapsed, but truthers would like to pretend that EXPLOSIONS happening OUTSIDE the buildings AFTER they had collapsed is evidence of BOMBS placed INSIDE the buildings BEFORE they collapsed. Ya can't make this stuff up!

The sound at the beginning (:12) was never associated with anything 9/11. It was not WTC7 falling, nor the towers. Looks like the firemen already escaped the collapse. Out of context claptrap used by 9/11 truth to propagate stupid ideas.

You may find another video during a tower collapse where someone enhanced the floors banging into each other to make it sound like explosives. That one is fake.

that appears to be the corner of Murray and Church. not Broadway. Zoom in with google earth and you can see the building with the white bands around it on the north west street corner. With the phone booth likely on the north east corner. Which puts it at about 750 feet from the north east corner of seven.

From the shadows thrown in that video i estimate the time to be about 1:40 to 1:50 pm

i hear a boom..i dont see a bomb. this could have been a gas tank exploding in a burning car.

Last June I was half of a block away from a PG&E underground transformer that exploded. Scared the bejeebus out of me. That's what it sounded like. If it isn't faked (which I suspect), then that's probably what went boom.

I saw this in a foreign translated version of a 9/11 film, and from its chronological position in the movie I'd also say it was long before WTC7 collapsed.

Unfortunately it didn't help me figure out how large the original explosion was, because the film had been dubbed - they lowered the original audio and added a voiceover on top. So there IS an explosion at that point, it sounded quieter than that, but so did everything because they've dipped the original volume. We still need the original footage to figure this out properly.

Just a FYI. the two shadows I used in the video to calculate the time were the shadow cast on the stainless steel support of the phone booth which appeared to be between 44 to 47 degrees (altitude) and the shadow cast on the sidewalk by the fireman approaching the group from the south which appeared to be 220 to 221 degrees east of north.(azimuth)

Did anyone else notice that the men did not take cover or jump when they heard the explosion? These are trained emergency service workers, and they continue leaning on a phone booth when another building may be about to fall on them. Riiiigght!

its apparently from a documentary 9/11: stories fron the city

If you look at the thumbnails to the right of this page. It appears to be downloadable only if you are employed my the news media or a cable company. Maybe Gumboot can access it if he qualifies for an account there?

A large bang. Big ****ing deal. Lots of things go boom, especially in burning buildings.

Same old boring song and dance...just older, and more boring.

TAM:)
