From "Penn Say's:
"Penn discusses some doubts concerning the events of September 11th."

Now, the woo at ATS are thinking that Penn has switched sides.

I watched this, and to me he is speaking about Global Warming (which he thinks Gore is not being honest) He does not want to become like a truther he met back stage at one of his shows. The truther he called a "self righteous *****."

Actually, I'd say that video is Penn getting even further away from woo. He recognized the similarity between his position on global warming, and the truther's position on 9/11, and realized that he might be just as much of an ******* about GW as the truther is about 9/11. He's not all the way there yet, but he's at least taking an honest look at his own position, which is the complete antithesis of a woo.

This Brainiac at ATS shows off some twoofer research skillz.
Well this is good news I guess as even someone as skeptical as Penn can be made to look at 9/11 and atleast admit that 'they don't know', or perhaps it is something to do with becoming wiser with age.
Any one...and I mean ANYONE who watched this and thought PJ was down w/twoofers, IS INSANE! Penn really did not dig the kat backstage!:D

Quote mining at its finest. Some of these guys really seem to believe their own BS.

Republicans like Rush Limbaugh are global warming skeptics :D They claim that Al Gore uses global warming to make more money.

The :rule10 program on GW was pretty cool. Penn basically said he just wasn't sure about it, but the whole idea of people pumping guilt to sell credit carbon offsets was crapola at the very least. I have to respect his opinion on that. Penn's no more a truther than Albert Einstein was a theist.

Penn is an idiot!
He makes his money by deceiving people.
His word and a dollar may get you a burger from the value menu.

That was an excellent little segment. He doesn't express any doubt about 9-11, he's just using the 9-11 fruitcakes to illustrate how he doesn't want to come off about global warming skepticism. He says that Al Gore sets off his BS detector That's a sign that his BS detector is functioning properly. Gore routinely exaggerates and lives a lifestyle that is hard to reconcile with his desired objectives for the rest of us. A legitimate point which (however) does not disprove GW itself.

Wholly appropriate…

Penn is an idiot!

Your evidence for your opinion, please?

He makes his money by deceiving people.

He makes his living from many, many things. The magic show is only part of it. And if there are people actually being deceived by a magician's act, the fault is with the people, not the magician.

His word and a dollar may get you a burger from the value menu.

Ad hominem. I'm certainly not taking your poor opinion of a man as proof that everything the man says is untrue, or true for that matter. I'll check it out for myself--oh, wait, I already have.

NEWS FLASH! Penn Jillette is a human being and sometimes makes mistakes!

...but most of the time, he's spot-on, my research shows.

SOmetimes, and sometimes I do think Penn is guilty of allowing his Libertarian views to color his show. I am convinced that his GW scepticism is based more on his opposition to Government Regulation of any kind rather then a careful examination of this evidence.
A number of skeptics are concerned about the route that "Bull----" has been taking lately.
But I agree to accuse Penn of Trutherism is ridiculous.

And if there are people actually being deceived by a magician's act, the fault is with the people, not the magician.

Well, I disagree with that. A better counter is the fact that a magician's deception is for entertainment purposes and the audience is well aware of this going in. That's hardly a sinister way to make a living.

Tweeter must think actors are the spawn of Satan.

The funny thing is, I'm fairly sure Penn would agree with all three of these points.
