Who's *planning* to attend TAM 7?

Am I the only person who isn't all that pumped about Penn but is really looking foward to meeting Teller?

Teller is every bit as keen as you imagine he might be. I only got a brief interaction with him, but I really wanted to just camp in his vicinity and listen to him speak. He has a very thoughtful way...

BTW, Penn's not so bad in person. I enjoyed sitting by him at lunch. He's outrageous sometimes, but that's mostly to see if people will geek. I had the opportunity to watch him break some bad news to Randi about a mutual acquaintance, and he was quite a different man than his public persona. Other folks who were on that Slammer lunch will know what I'm referring to.

I might (And I wanna put a gigantic enphasis on "might") start saving money to go. Going from Argentina to US is expensive; not to mention stay in a hotel in Vegas :(

Haha, hooooo boy. I know I've posted this before somewhere. I've been a Teller fangirl ever since I saw him and Penn do the bullet catch on TV when I was seven. Actually, the only original motivator for me attending TAM6 was the chance to see him in person (since I didn't really know what TAM was and my roommate wanted to go). After their Q&A sequence, he was in the back chatting with a guy, and my roommate had to pinch me to get up the balls to run over and get an autograph. That guy kept on talking to him, even though I had been standing there for several minutes, and finally Teller turns and says hello to me. Gasp! I almost wet my dress. Everything I've ever wanted to say just disappeared from my head as I stuttered out a lame, "You're so amazing and can I get an autograph?" or something completely moronic like that. I almost dropped the pen, I was shaking so much.

[/end scary fangirl Teller-stalker mode]

I'm sure I made a great impression. *dies of embarrassment* Actually, I probably didn't make an impression at all, but oh well. I also got a picture with him after the Rio show (which I also had to get pushed into in order to ask for a picture by some very awesome Denver JREF members).

Yep. It's an awfully long way to go for a weekend, though. Something might still come up that prevents me. But I still quit smoking, so I'll always have that.

Some folks make nearly a week of it. Besides... it's not just any weekend.

(Plus, the Amazing One himself is always available and great fun to talk to.)

I am doing what I can, but with being at school again, money is an issue. Sigh.

I wonder if anyone would let me sleep on their floor for fifty bucks?

I am planning to go.

Or rather, I should say I desperately want to go. As yet, I have no idea how I'll pay for it, how I'll get there, or where I'll stay. Other than those few details, I'm rarin' to go.

Nobby--Drop me a PM sometime. I think I might be able to help a bit...

Yes. Anyone over 6' has to pay extra considering that fewer of them can be packed into a lecture hall and they generally consume more food and beverages.

Yeah yeah, and you debri--er, normal sized people are always underfoot... :)

I have scheduled to have off from the 7th -14th. Like most everyone there is the money question but right now the plan is to be there.

As per Tamazon, PM me.

MOney's a factor for me, but my mom's always trying to give some to me. I might actually let her for once.

To repeat PM me.

If you'll curl up like a cat and purr when I rub your belly... as above.. PM me.

If anyone who can make it to TAM7 is having second thoughts about going because you're $100, $300 or $500 short... do not worry. While we cannot finance the entire cost, if you're a few hundred short of making it, help is availible.

I'm hoping to be able to make a week of it. I'd like to see the San Diego Zoo and the Grand Canyon while I'm there, since I'll be in the area.

Someone once mentioned something about a party at HCMom's place... :p

Absolutely, US. I'm saving now for the trip and if i dont make it for any reason, i'd like some of this money to be used to help other people attend. However, as i'm saving hard and really hope to make it, i would be happy to help out in a smaller way if i do manage to hit my target.

If it helps, the chances of you leaving TAM thinking to yourself, "Well, THAT wasn't worth it" are slim to none. (Taking from anecdotal evidence, of course.) It is money well spent.

I am definitely planning to be there again, and I am hoping my brother will be there too.

Like I said in the "what to expect thread" just booked my plane ticket -- the cheap non-refundable kind so if it' on, I'll be there! Working on getting my sister/her husband and a friend of mine to come too -- they're already in the States so no darn excuses.

It may take 2-4 of us standing on each other's shoulders but we can and will nutpunch you.

My presence is dependant upon if I have a job and if I can get that time off and if I can afford it (Shush, US).

e - Oh **** yes. I'm looking at the spa treatments because I have no idea what happens at spas.

Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy offers physical as well as emotional relief. Perceptive to a very subtle pulsation caused by the wave like motion of spinal fluid, your therapist can detect when the "wave" or flow of energy is not moving freely. In this case, specific techniques to help the cerebral-spinal circulation will be applied to guide the body toward self-healing, A single session results in greater self-awareness and a heightened sense of well-being.
50 minutes: $120
80 minutes: $160

You better. We missed you at 6. And you're the anti-Rebecca!
