Hannity's America

What time does this chap go on? - I don't think I have ever seen him. I usually catch the financial guy's show Cavuto (sp?) and occasionally their forum with Barnes and Krauthammer. Barnes is a party line man but I quite like Krauthammer - a stranger to an ironed collar and all the better for it.

Hannity and Colmes is the main show he's on, which is a Crossifre type debate show.

The show you refer to is (I believe) Special Report with Brit Hume. He has the panel including Barnes and Krauthammer, and often Kondracke and some others. I agree that Krauthammer is pretty good. After this show comes O'Reilly I believe, and then Hannity and Colmes. I am pretty sure Hannity and Colmes is on at 7 or 8pm CST, as a frame of reference.

Hannity's America is a Sunday show he does on his own, not sure what time that is on.

Careful. Your parser is set too high.

Could be. But the way you put it could be reasonably interpeted as that IMO. You said the problem was that people believe what he says. That kind of implies that most of what he says, if not all, is at the very least wrong, if not outright dishonest. I'm not trying to pick a fight though, I really don't like Hannity that much.

Thanks - that is about 1 or 2 in the morning here - past my bed time which explains why I have never seen him :)

Kathy, Jesus himself told me he'd vote for Obama.
McCain cheated on his wife and hasn't hardly mentioned one word about Jesus this entire campaign. Nor has he mentioned helping the poor. So Jesus said he's kinda pissed at McCain.
Also did you know that Mc at the start of a persons name means 'son of' which means his name is John, son of Cain!
And about the Muslim thing, don't you think the Secret Service kinda check that stuff out pretty well before they let you become President?

Perhaps Hannity and Kathy are bearing false witness against Barack. I'd hate to think what God would do to them for this, if they end up being wrong. ;)

While I disagree with her religious beliefs.. is this commentary really necessary?

Necessary, no. Cathartic, yes.

I started a thread not too long ago about not making fun of people for their unusual beliefs. But sometimes dammit, the tempation is too much. Look at it this way, her vote actually harms you by being based on her "instinct" instead of information. Blech.

This may be a suprise to you, but this is exactly how I feel about a great many left wingers and liberal ideas. I actually believe a great many things they believe in are dangerous to this country, and that many of them vote based on emotion rather than logic.

While I can't say that I've been a perfect gentleman and not made any similar attacks at all, I do try my best to withhold the kinds of ridicule that is being thrown at her. Honestly. Otherwise I'd be like Cicero.

ETA: I don't think your comment in particular was ridicule, for what it's worth. I was more taken back by Ausmerican's comments.

Hey Whiplash if you see what you think is someone on here is making decisions and/or statements based on emotion instead of logic, call them on it. This is a board for critical thinkers and most of us are used to being asked for evidence.
That is part of the problem with Kathy. She doesn't DO evidence, except the unseen feely kind. She started many many threads and then complained of being attacked whenever anyone asked her to back up her views.
But really, especially if you seriously think these ideas you speak of are dangerous to the country, why on earth wouldn't you ask for evidence?

I assume you meant the one about opposable thumbs? That was more a joke along the lines of KK doesn't believe in evolution and therefore she wouldn't say she evolved opposable thumbs, god made her with em.

I was unaware of other threads she has engaged in, so maybe I jumped the gun there a bit. I still don't think it merits ridicule, however. But I was unaware of what history she may have had with you guys.

As to your final question, I'm not sure what to say. I know how I am, and how deeply I've gotten involved in previous election debates in other places, and I don't want to spend all my free time engaging in back and forth with people that I'm not certain I will ever change their minds anyhow. And admittedly, I don't expect they will change mine. So I just throw out my thoughts once in a while, and usually leave it at that because I don't want to get neck deep into it every day. It's too stressful.

ETA: I read your clarification and I was probably too quick to judge.

All good friend. It is up to each of us how deep and how often we choose to engage on here. Aim for the catharthis Merv was talking about instead of stress, you'll live longer and enjoy it more.

Hannity's America is embarrassing overall. It's this kind of ultra nationalism that makes me cringe.

straw straw straw straw. Even if that were not a strawman, why aren't you blaming McCain, Bush 1 & 2, Reagan etc. etc. None of them have done anything to bring about "small government".

You want the "big lie", how about the one that Republicans believe in small government. That's the biggest whopper out there.

That's the point isn't it? Bush was hardly a limited government person. However, his imaginary de-regulation and limited government agenda for the past 8 years are blamed by Obama/Biden at every campaign stop for the crisis.

Its not called "The Big Lie" because its truthful David.

Is it ultra nationalism? I'd be willing to lay down good internet bucks that Hannity will have no problem criticizing the President during a time of war (something he currently considers absolutely un-American) when it's President Obama.
