Does time travel qualify for the Million Dollar challenge?

I'm a time traveller. Here's a video I took of Jim Callahan doing his act in the year 2028.

Keep practising Jim - here is your future!

Oh, my...was that part of a comedy show?

And is that Mr. Callahan?

You are incorrect.

I was making comment on what y'all think I am.

Thanks,

Jim

But are you up to the challenge?

Is it your idea that creating a long thread of back and forth (consisting of sensible questions from us, followed by cryptic answers from you) is a form of performance art?

If you can contact a dead man with x-ray vision, why not submit a claim? A loose protocol idea might be; five boxes containing five everyday objects (to be mutually agreed upon from a mutually agreed upon number of objects) is placed before you, you contact the dead guy, he tells you what's in each one. You then write the objects names backwards on a whiteboard, then place the whiteboard under a mirror so the backwards writing is seen correctly. With a mutually agreed upon number of spelling errors allowed (a learning disability apparently shared by you and the dead guy) and a mutually agreed upon number of correct answers, the results are seen and, if you can do as you say you can do, you're on your way to being a millionaire.

Or you can propagate a thread on a web board.

I believe your true intents and abilities will be revealed by which of these options you choose.

Would the five items need to be spelled correctly? This could be a problem.

I'm getting moderated a lot today, purely because I dont know where I am with these threads! And what Im allowed to say! :)

Jumping through the JREF hoops is not as easy as the JREF Forum members claim. That is why people question it's validity.

What hoops would these be then Dave F Koenig? By "hoops" do you mean "rules " and by "jump" do you mean "abide by"?

Thought so.:)

Learning algebra is not as easy as the math teachers of the world claim. That is why stupid people question the validity of algebra.

Yes. especially when you have to do things like bump week old threads when you should be busy developing a protocol. This may be a silly question, but why are you not simply concentrating on the important things, like, uuummm, developing a protocol springs to mind?

You were accepted pretty quickly as an applicant with no questioning of media presence or academic acceptance. Your problems since then have been purely of your own making, when you repeatedly ignored all help in stating your claim, and we expect you to be just as intransigent when constructing a protocol. No hoops involved.

The Protocol was developed long ago! Weren't you listening?
The protocol was discussed for weeks although the BASHERS and SNARKIES were too busy doing what they do to actually READ :)

You might have something you call a "protocol" but I'm quite sure you don't have an acceptable protocol, at least not posted in this forum. You can't don't want to understand that some voices on a tape don't qualify as paranormal unless it is self-evident that they were produced by paranormal means. Please concentrate on creating a protocol which is acceptable for both you and the JREF.
I don't need to be a psychic to predict you'll never manage to do that.

OK, the initial question was whether a magician had applied or not. Jim Callahan is not applying, and The Professor has. To ensure that the moderation of that protocol thread is not bypassed, and since the original question has been addressed, I am closing this thread.

Please discuss any further protocol issues in the correct thread. If there's a new magician applying, then it would be best to start a new thread specifically or him/her.
