CNN pulls camera crew from Palin meeting

Accepted, and I am sorry I went off like that. Some mornings I have no sense of humor. (This being one of them - dealing with financial mis-management in one of my client's businesses...)

I'm sure you know I did just to ruffle your feathers, and I am sorry to have poured it on when you weren't in the mood.

Hang in there....

The question now is did McCain pay too high a price for firing up the base with the Palin nomination?
Frankly, the Dems should concentrate on stuff like this and keep the Religious angle out of it.

I agree. The personal stuff gives the McCain campaign the victim card to play. The McCain campaign isn't showing a lot of confidence in her so far. I'd let her sink or swim based on her skills.

The problem is that McCain is now tied to her and he was already sinking. If she sinks, he's done too.

I don't see how she can live up to the enthusiasm level that she had when first picked. I get the feeling that many will be coming off their sugar high and realizing that the person McCain picked to deal with this country's issues has little substance or political savvy to her. It's the only reason I can see why they wouldn't turn her loose on the campaign trail. The sheltering of her is getting harder and harder to ignore by the media.

She can't and the polls are showing this;

Obama has surpassed his convention bounce now.

There are polls that are showing that women have in fact moved more toward Obama than they were before Palin was selected. She isn't helping with the women's vote.

White women have switched drastically toward Obama.

"Gimme more unearned exposure on my terms! Show my pretty smile on your televisions! Don't document me speaking, it's not fair! Lipstick! Energy independence! Gimme Gimme Gimme!"

Okay, I'll admit it, that's not fair...it's actually her handlers responsible for that.

If Palin wants to meet with the world leaders in private, I have no problem with that, but when you ask for news coverage you really can't dictate the terms.
If she stated from the beginning she wanted no reporters admitted to the meetings, fine; I can understand why. But this business of inviting then disinviting then inviting reporters shows that someone on her campaign is not doing their job.
I would not be surprised if there begin to be friction between the people running the McCain campaing and Palin's personal handlers just on the grounds of simple competence.

I saw this as a passing piece of news on a UK news channel and thought it smacked of over-management by the political handlers. This kind of thing backfires on the candidate. It may be that she will be gauche but having picked her they have to let her have a crack at it.

Nope. Did you look at how little time the reporters had to examine the 10,000 pages of documents? No way was any complete examination made. A total whitewash.

And nothing more since that time, and you know conditions at his age progress rapidly.

Nothing is acceptable to me other than a full public disclosure of his health records.

My conclusion is that he is hiding something rather significant about his health, and I suspect that the melanoma may have returned in the last few months given his cognitive issues.

I see.

Not that it matters much, but My respect factor for both of you has gone up tremendously.

The poltics section tends to be contentious, and it is always good to see decency.
Thank you both!
:)
