How does the NWO affect my life?

Let's see now. I have a Statistics exam tomorrow. Then a World Civilizations exam on Wednesday. Lots of classes Tuesday and Thursday. I have to pay my rent, continue my job hunting, and work on the book I'm writing. Friday I play Dungeons & Dragons with my friends. Saturday I go to a fundraiser for my old debate team. Sunday is just kind of a lazy day for me. Sometimes my friends and I go downtown and do random things.

The NWO/Illuminati/Freemasons/CT-Bad-Guys-of-the-Month are supposedly "enslaving" me. "Enslavement" implies that something I am doing, is not something I would freely choose. Or, that there is something that I WOULD do if I could freely choose, that I am not already doing. So I ask you CTists: how exactly are the NWO/Illuminati/Freemasons/CT-Bad-Guys-of-the-Month affecting my life? In what way, specifically, am I being "enslaved"?

"NWO" conspiracy theories can be summed up as thus: It's not that they're wrong. It's not even that there's no evidence for them. It's that the idea that this super secret elite cabal is controlling us, amounts to complete gibberish, because CTists never explain how or why they are controlling us, or more importantly what would be different if they weren't controlling us.

In other words, saying "You are just a sheep/slave/pawn of the NWO!" is exactly the same thing as saying "yoog moffa gloop blokk witz ptwing gork!!!" It is just gibberish, with no meaning.

Oh I think you nailed it right there. Personally I think a lot of it comes from this notion that the reason they are not wealthy, have to pay bills, and are not famous is because the NWO is really keeping them down.

Then after that everything in society from Dungeons & Dragons to the temperature in Cleveland on Tuesday becomes part of a sinister plan. Basically these are people that would blame everything on a conspiracy anyway. If it wasn't the vague NWO it would be their boss at Pizza Shack.
 
Why would the NWO be bad?

The NWO could organize a supa-dupa-lottery in which you have been chosen to win a lot of cash :p

What an incredibly smug and unambitious person. I suppose we can't expect more from someone living in the la la land of dungeons and dragons - which seems to be most people on this forum. The NWO don't need to bother enslaving you because you've already enslaved yourself.

Why don't you try to expand your imagination? Try this - imagine you wanted to be the president of the USA, or a big player in Wall Street, or a CEO or a media mogul. Imagine you wanted to be one of the people who makes a difference in life rather than one of those who sits statistics exams. Do you think George W Bush became president because he passed statistics exams? Or was it because he was the son of a president who in turn belonged to an extremely rich and influential family going back generations? Did it harm him that he was a member of Skull and Bones? Does it matter that he's plainly stupid? Bush demonstrates that a well-connected idiot can become president. You could get 100% for your stats exam. Big deal. You haven't even learned lesson one.

If your country is presided over by the NWO then your 'freedom' is just an illusion. American soldiers are dying in Iraq because of Bush. Try asking their grieving families about 'enslavement'. Yes I see what you mean. I mean no one that went to a small public school like the University of Idaho, worked as a small town journalist, got married, had kids and joined the local PTA could ever have a shot at becoming anything like Vice President, one step from the highest office in the country. Why a person like that couldn't even be nominated by a major party. What? Oh wait never mind since that is happening now wit Sarah Palin.

Well no one could drop out of college and then build a huge software company and make himself one of the richest men in the world. What? Oh that is right Bill gates did just that.

None of the soldiers who have died in Iraq were forced to join the military. It was completely voluntary. How are they enslaved? You do not have to do anything you don't want to in this country. If you don't want to pay taxes, just don't work or if you do, don't be in the top 60% of earners. If you don't want to fight in a war, don't join the armed services. The fact is people who believe in the NWO and/or the Illuminati are just looking for excuses for why they are not in charge/richer/happier.

You're missing the point. Since the people in all these roles are chosen by the NWO, clearly both Palin and Gates were chosen by the NWO for these roles. From the same reasoning, it can be determined that everyone else in a position of power was chosen by the NWO. Therefore, since we have shown that everyone in a position of power was chosen for that role by the NWO, therefore the NWO exists and is actively selecting people for positions of power. It's simple. And, of course, the corollary is that there must be people who are fitted for positions of power by their undeniable ability, but are excluded from them by the NWO, therefore it is in no way their fault that they are reduced to posting conspiracy theories on internet discussion forums. When you're living in a stacked deck, failure carries no stigma.

I don't play dungeons and dragons, and do not live in la la land. However, you sir, seem to be a prominent member of la la land :D. Provide actual evidence to support your NWO claims, then I shall be entirely open to listen. IF you actually have the evidence.
 
I agree that someone who plays D&D regularly is likely not to be on the success track. However, you have already identified yourself as one of the people who "stand by and watch" as the NWO keeps you down, so I don't see that you're really in a position to belittle others for idleness.

As for me, my only D&D game was sometime around 1995 and I was a terrible roleplayer.

Why don't you actually answer the question posed in the thread and explain to me what I should be doing differently, or would be doing differently were I not "enslaved"?

I suppose you would like me to drop out of school, stop paying taxes, and spend the rest of my life posting on Internet forums, mooching off my parents for food and clothing. In other words, be just like you.
