TAM6 Photo Thread

I use Smugmug as well. It has a great user interface, and good graphics. The pictures are backed up in two different physical locations. When friends want to look at my pictures, they don't have to sign up for anything, click past advertisements, etc. I've ordered rather large prints for business purposes (larger than 40", for example), and the paper and ink quality is excellent.
SmugMug is a good group of people to work with. I nearly got burned by ClubPhoto a few years ago.

And Susan, if I had the pics up at SnapFish, a WinkFlash user would tell me that $0.09 is a great price if you've got money to burn: WinkFlash sells prints for $0.08. No doubt some hosting site out there will pay you money to order pics. (?)

I'm not looking to keep on top of the best print deal, moving my voluminous albums with each economic change in the wind. I did spend some time, talent, and energy looking for the best place to host my pics when I sensed ClubPhoto was doomed.

And SmugMug won.

thanks phyz!

seriously good photographs even if I'm not in any of them.

I want to get together some informal picture for the forum welcome table, focusing on people just hanging and having fun. It's AMAZING how many photos are just speakers or people posing with speakers. I'm getting some good "just hanging" shots, but it's not been easy. We so like to "pose" and it does seem rude to just take photos of people without their being aware of it. However, those are what is needed for my "this is what happens at TAM other than the speakers" slideshow.

Or........
maybe you were just very clever by keeping my legions of friends just out of the frame.

Yeah, that's the one I'm going with.

Actually, it did take awhile before everyone had left! :)

I even had to arrange the Plait photo. But don't tell him....

I'm a big believer in taking candid shots and try to discourage people from posing. There's only so many "look I once stood right next to ______ while grinning like an idiot" photos that a person can take.

Try my set at:

Unfortunately I didn't get any of the forum table, but there are some other non-posed shots there you can probably use.

Thanks, Kitty. It turns out they're nontrivial to get, given the photographic conditions of TAM and my interest in not annoying the speakers or fellow attendees while getting them.

There is but ONE reliable method to getting the kind of pictures you want to come home with. But I think you already know what that is. :D

I love love loved those photos, krelnik. Dang, now I'm missing TAM all over again.

Not a photo from TAM6, but it does commemorate a memorable TAM6 event :D
Look's like we picked the same color, mon ami. Great minds...

I did make one modification (just one character) on the back of the shirt. The tweak is so slight, most people will never even notice it. But mine is still en route.

Good thing you don't have a picture of hcmom on that bright pink couch -- you might not have been able to see her!

she does like a bright couch...
picture.php

I saw photos of that couch! And how subdued she dressed that day to provide contrast to the couch...

And a 14-year old boy being drawn to a giant naked Lego lady surprises you why?

I finally downloaded the pictures from my camera.

Hal is all sincerity...
