Phelps on Carlin

Come on, Phelps. You could have at least said all this when Carlin was still alive. He probably would have dedicated an entire set just to making fun of you.

It doesn't bother me.

Darth Rotor's story of camping outside a funeral with like minded bikers was enough to show that Phelps' only success is uniting people...against him.

Say what? I must have missed that thread.

It's almost a shame that channellers are all phonies, otherwise we might be treated to Carlin's comedy smash, "The Seven Words You Can Never Say in the Afterlife."

Is it just me, or does it seem that Phelps is trying his danrdest to get assaulted?

I understand they are mostly lawyers, so maybe they're goal is to get attacked, and use it as proof of their virtue vie victimization, as well as a way to get money.

You have to admit, he has the perfect method for trolling.
At almost any other event, people would be ignoring his as, well, a troll.
But at funerals, emotions are already raging, and people are far more likely to react to Phelps' particular brand of terrified fundamentalist idiocy.

ETA: Would the pissing on his grave be final respects from Carlin's fans, or does he have lots of enemies?

We'll miss ya, George. Fred Phelps, when he finally dies of that brain aneurism he's been working on with all that hatemongering ... the news networks will miss him, but me -- not so much.

Westboro Church Man
Seven deadly words he fears.
Threats and childish spite!

I hope Jeff Dunham makes a puppet of Phelps.

I wonder how large the attendance will be at Fred's funeral?

I don't know but I think the line to piss on his grave will stretch for miles.

I'm reminded of the Captain Sternn segment in Heavy Metal where his lawyer argues for a plea bargin where Sternn could be buried anonymously so his grave wouldn't be desicrated.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just came back from a George Carlin concert yesterday. I have always liked his humour and was pleased that he was coming to our rinky-dink corner of the country.

I cannot tell you how disappointed in his show that I was. He jumped out on stage without an introduction, went into his spiel about cliches for about two minutes then proceeded to read his material from a pile of papers beside the mike.

He had no timing, frequently got lost or screwed up the jokes, sometimes even asking the audience to forget that he just gave out the punchline before the joke, then retelling the joke.

For the most part his humour consisted of the f-bomb. It was neither funny nor witty.

He ended so abruptly that most people didn't realize the show was over.

Just a terrible night altogether. What respect for George Carlin I had going into the theatre went out the door with his lack of respect for the audience.

Take the money and run, George. I'm glad it wasn't my last sixty bucks.

Now, I'm sorry he died but that doesn't erase the fact that his estate still owes me $120 (for my wife and I) for the dismal waste of time he forced me through that night. If there is a hell (there is not) he should at least spend one hour there.

He was brilliant in his early career but became a bitter old man near the end.

Phelps is doing his damnednest to get physically assaulted - he and his family will soak who ever does such a foolish thing for everything they've got.

It is important not to offer physical violence to Phelps - it would financially assist him and give him a excuse to cast himself as a victim.

One of the viler 'human beings' on the planet.

[don't get caught]

I've often wondered that myself. I'm surprised some crazy biker just out of the joint, with nothing to lose, just put a boot to the face of those protesters. He'd be a hero to a lot of people and get his 15 min of fame. Though I think I remember reading some place that they have been assulted many times. Though I've never seen it. If anybody has links to them getting their behinds kicked, I'd be more then happy to see a link. :p
I can't condone violence against them :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
