Anyway, as has been rehashed time and again, how do you know they did not? Why do you need to know every bit of minutia of the investigation? Why do you need to see the reconstruction if it occurred?

Nope, reconstruction is not that common and typically limited to when the cause of a crash can't be determined from other information.

In the case of PA 103, the fact that it was a bomb that precipitated the crash only became clear BECAUSE they reconstructed the fuselage.

In the case of UA 93, the NTSB was provided evidence from the FAA/FBI that indicated that the plane was hijacked and being flown recklessly by an inexperienced pilot while the passengers were trying to break down the door to the cockpit when it crashed.

I can't imagine that the NTSB would think that a lengthy and costly aircraft reconstruction would be likely to shed any light on this and obviously they found nothing in the aircraft recovery that changed their mind.

If it had been shot down there would have been a damn site more wreckage strewn over a larger area. The FDR would also have shown the damage inflicted by the "missile"

Until they knew the cause of the flight's crash, the NTSB has control. As soon as they know the cause was due to crime, the FBI has it.

Stop asking questions only the FBI can answer.

In the case of Pan Am 103, there was already evidence of an explosive device detonating on the plane before a reconstruction was undertaken. In that case putting the pieces of recovered wreckage in their original spatial relationship was important in confirming the presence of a bomb, its location and the sequence of events after the explosion.

Absent good reason to suspect a bomb or mechanical failure, what purpose would reconstructing flight 93 have served, other than to conform to paranoid conspiracy theorists' fantasies of how an air crash should be investigated?

And, RedIbis, I have to wonder: why do you deem yourself qualified to prescribe how crash investigators should do their jobs? If you seek medical attention for an ailment or injury, do you tell the doctor what tests to perform in diagnosing the problem?

However, once it was declared a crime scene by the Attorney General it fell into the hands of the Justice Department and the FBI, with the NTSB acting as consultants when needed.

Well it wasn't in the ditch. CNN reported that 95% of the plane was recovered but it was never laid out in a hangar as usually happens with wreckage. So where is it?

Gravy has a pic on his links of a dumpster, about a third full, or what looks to be rusty scrap. Is that it?

This does not answer my question. Why do you ask "where is it"? Have you spoke to UAL? They are the ones that the 95% was turned over to. If you haven't why are you asking us? Do you really think this is something we should know?

As far as I know, Pan Am 103 was jointly investigated, extensively.

There is plenty of pictures of the area that the truthers claim did not show enough evidence of a crash. So little they claim there was no plane.

If it was shot down there would have been larger pieces of the aircraft visible, over a larger area and there would have been passenger bodies.

Look up Lockerbie, some residents actually found passengers who were still alive, there were huge pieces of the aircraft found and the wreckage was spread for miles.

93 impact in PA, as seen. Exactly what a high speed impact and wreckage looks like. As any aircraft accident investigator.

Any one who says it looks funny, or 93 did not crash there, is ignorant on aircraft crashes or a liar.

More correctly it IS NO LONGER in the ditch. At one point, i am sure a good portion of it was in the ditch, prior to collection.

Well Red, let me ask you this. Do you have photographic proof that EVERY SINGLE aircraft crash in history had its remains collected and put in a hangar? Perhaps they were, but do you have proof? Of course not, because you were not part of the investigation of these aircrafts. Neither were the many investigooglists. Does that mean that the parts were not placed in a hangar and cataloged? of course not.

Like wise, just because you, myself, and the general public do not have access to that hangar (or photos of the parts in that hangar), does not mean that the parts of Flight 93 were not, at least for a while, placed in such a hangar, photographed, cataloged, etc...

Once again, I go back to the ridiculous assertion that some lay person in the general public should have access to such, and if they do not, insist that such does not exist...ridiculous.
