Sorry, I'm broke. Such is a result of the process of higher education. You don't think you could try and explain it to me with cites and such?

Ironic, isn´t it? If higher education was free (which Libertarians believe it should not be) you would have the spare cash to educate yourself on Libertarianism. Libertarians are actually forcing you to stay ignorant of the finer points of Libertarian ideas.

In other words, Libertarianism defeats itself on the marketplace of ideas by pricing its ideas so high that people cannot afford them. Talk about a self-defeating strategy!:D

This was twistedly humorous.

Well, without the government subsidizing higher education it would not cost near as much and you could afford to purchase books.

How about not ribbing off Chaos and answering my question?

BTW: Most of my school's funding comes from research grants and merchandising.

Thanks for the assistance.

By the way, JdG, the university I attend is subsidized (by the state government) quite heavily, and somehow this has caused it to become cheap instead of expensive... I´m talking about ca. $2,400 per year (and it used to be ca. $750 a year until last year), which includes free public transport within most of my state, among other things.

Oh, I forgot about that too.

In the Republic of California, public universities and colleges are not allowed to charge tuition to in-state residents. Hence, I pay fees of about $8k/year where as a non-resident would pay fees and tuition totaling to about $17k/year.

However, due to the current budget crisis, we're looking at an extra $500/year or so next year.

Yes. They're very clever that way.

Then why are you broke?

I had this nice explanation typed out until I realized, you still hadn't answered my question and are forcing a derail.

When you explain what Ron Paul's position is in your own words, I'll explain to you exactly how much I don't make, even though my school is relatively inexpensive.

Wait, so we should be free to smoke our weed, have our guns, and not pay taxes, but we can't be free to have an abortion if needed?

Yes, free to smoke your weed.

Yes, free to have your guns.

No, taxes are needed, just not labor taxes.

No, free to have an abortion determined by the States as it is not the purview of the Federal government.
