Documenting Your T-shirts at TAM

So, I noticed at last TAM that several people were wearing some pretty awesome skeptical/geeky/nerdy/science-y t-shirts and/or clothing. I was wondering what you guys think of me setting up a camera at some corner of the conference room and having people come and let me take a picture of them in their shirt.

Sounds good? Should I do it?

I get all sorts of wacky project ideas and sometimes I don't know if they're crazy or not. Hehe.

Anyway, tell me what you think!

Sounds to me like a blatant attempt to get people out of their pants.

What! I said no such thing! :p Where would you get such a preposterous idea? But everyone is welcome to be in any form of dress (or un-dress) that's comfortable.

Oh yeah, teek, if I did have a water implement, I'd hide it of course. I'm sneaky like that.

I for one will probably not be wearing anything that anyone would like to photograph. But I like the idea of pictures of some of these fun shirts. There have been some great ones at past TAMS. I suppose if people knew there would be a photo shoot for them more might turn out?

Good idea - I shall attempt to bring as many nerdy & skeptical T-shirts as I can from my closet.

In addition, if there is enough popular demand, I'm willing to have a photo or two taken sans shirt :D

Yep, I'm thinking of figuring out how to advertise and spread the word.

Wouldn't it be easier for you to just walk around the room and take pictures of shirts when you see them. I mean, if you sit in a corner with camera equipment you can only socialize with people who come to talk to you. If you wander you can socialize with whoever you like.

This sounds like a better idea to me, too. And I don't think you really have to advertise--having this thread should do the trick. Just bump it up a few days before TAM to remind people to pack their geekiest tee.

Oooo! Sounds like fun! I'll be bringing lots of nerdy/geeky shirts to TAM!!

Maybe I should order a new copy of my famous "Loading Humorous Message" shirt, for the occasion. My first one has gotten rather ratty as of late.

I agree, this is a better idea...but I'm afraid I'll appear creepy walking up to people. Meh, I'm used to it ;)

People wearing cool/goofy tee shirts put them on so people will read them. You are only photographing the shirt....right?

I would be totally comfortable going up to strange men and asking them if I could get a picture of their cool shirt. Everyone there should be pretty social, so no problem.

Well, I was thinking of giving the person the choice to either let me take a picture of just their shirt or also their shirt and face. I also would like to record their name and make a flickr album of all the shirts to everyone could see it.
