Good eating in Vegas

Sounds like it's on for Wednesday. It may be easiest to take the Monorail from the Flamingo to the MGM and cross the sky-bridge to New York-New York, as traffic on the strip during rush hour is nuts, and parking is a pain in the patootie. Maybe meet at the turnstiles for the Monorail at 5:30? If anyone wants to go earlier or later, fine by me. ETA: Mom doesn't get in until after 9:00, and I will be leaving a key for her at the front desk in case I am out when she arrives. She has my cell number, so I don't have to stay around the hotel waiting for her.

And does she tell embarrassing baby stories? Because I love to hear them. :D

Do you really think I can be embarassed? Even after all of Tricky's fruitless attempts?

Hey Larson, put us down for 17:30 Wednesday, meeting place: turnstiles at monorail.

For breakfast we like to head out to Blueberry Hill. It's about two miles due east of the Flamingo, on the south side of the road. Standard breakfast fare, but several notches above what you'd get at Denny's. The best part, though, is that it's far enough away from the strip so there are no tourists (except us) and the prices are not jacked up.

I'd be up for that. Plus I'd have the honor of both you and my wife glaring at me as I enjoy my COFFEE. She hates the stuff too. :)

Hmmm...wouldn't it be better to meet at the Hotel Reception? "Turnstiles at monorail" is maybe not so easy to find?

And it's "Larsen". :p

I am hotel-challenged, just how big is a hotel's reception? :boggled:

Believe it or not, it is much easier to meet up at the monorail station, as there is only one set of turnstiles at the Flamingo station IIRC, unlike the MGM, and they make you pay before you go through, so it's hard to miss people (although not impossible). Info about the monorail and how to find the Flamingo station is here.

The hotel reception/registration will likely be a zoo, based on my experience with other Las Vegas strip hotels, so I would avoid it as a meet-up area during peak check-in/check-out times.

Worst case scenario, just head over to the New York-New York and listen for a group of rowdy skeptics. :)

ETA: Ooh, nerdy-girl just found a site with all of the floor plans for the various properties in Las Vegas. There are three for the Flamingo, but I have a hard time reading the low-res version. The escalators to the Monorail are in the lower right (Southeast) corner of the property, just past the UPS Store in the Promenade Shops walkway.

It starts over here and ends there....

Hm. So, which is it? The hotel reception or the monorail station?

I'm easy.

I guess we are doing the monorail turnstiles at the Flamingo, since this seems to be easier.
