Slingblade notoriously fails to care.

Film at 11.

And BPSCG again rejoices that he works in IT and can take his laptop home and work in his underwear for the two days the Pope's visit is messing up traffic.

Hope he calls for a Crusade to free the Holy Land while he's here...

The Rat gave a press conference where he said he was ashamed of the sex scandal in the Catholic Church in the U.S. He has said he would not allow anyone involved to re,main in the church.

Wasn't he responsible for hiding the priests who were charged and being sought by various authorities? Doesn't that make him one of those involved? When will he announce his resignation? Can a Pope resign or is the only way out feet first?

Inquiring Minds want to know!

Notwithstanding the fevered and defamatory speculations of conspiracy theorists, I've never seen any evidence that the pope was responsible for hiding priests who were charged and being sought by various authorities. Have you?

Yes, a pope can resign. This was the subject of much discussion in the media and on the Internet toward the end of the previous papacy.

Oh Gawwwd - Is someone else watching the ceremony at the White House?
And is there a proper english translation to "selten-schmalziges Affentheater"?

Who the hell authorized the KofC to be in formation with the military during this mornings ceremonies?

I have no problem with them serving as some sort of Swiss Guard in abstentia while Ben 16 is doing other functions, but I'm sorry, during formal visiting head of state functions, it either needs to be the actual Swiss Guard or they need to be kept separate from the military during the honors.

Well, if the buck doesn't stop on Eggs's desk, where does it stop?

Oh yeah, so ashamed that he conveniently "transferred" the Bishops that were involved in sweeping the issue under the rug to "duties at the Vatican".

I'd love to ask the man "So, is this some form of political asylum you're granting them so that they may evade prosecution?"

(Vatican City is an autonomous city-state, correct?)

Pope Benedict XVI formerly known as Joseph Alois Ratzinger AKA the Rat.

When Eggs was announced as the new Pope, a version of his name flashed around the German-speaking world in seconds: Rantziger.

Course I looooove the fact that the Italians once again have a bigshot almost named Benito.

Well, if the buck doesn't stop on Eggs's desk, where does it stop?

There's a difference between the buck stopping at his desk and him being "one of those involved", in qayak's words - suggesting that he actually bears some culpability for such things, to whatever extent they occurred. But even setting that aside, has it even happened, since Pope Benedict XVI took office, that any part of the Church hierarchy has hidden priests charged with crimes and sought by the authorities, as qayak suggests?

Which bishops known to be involved in "sweeping the issue under the rug", or otherwise at risk of prosecution, did Pope Benedict transfer to duties at the Vatican?

What you heard was just church-speak for "We will make sure to keep such things hushed up in the future".

Pope Benedict XVI faced claims last night he had 'obstructed justice' after it emerged he issued an order ensuring the church's investigations into child sex abuse claims be carried out in secret.

taken from here.

Maybe that´s what qayak meant. Disgusting.

This pope sometimes makes me feel ashamed to be Bavarian.
