Gage's public speaking schedule

Yesterday was the big day, and it was awesome! To follow up on this little derail of mine from Friday without derailing this thread further, I posted just a few shots here on the picture thread instead of posting them in this thread and derailing it further. :)

To add to the derail, Technically, you didn't blow up the car; you - well, deflagrated it, if it can be called that (at least, it appears that way from the pictures - gasoline "bombs", right?). :D

Mythbusters did a segment on Hollywood-style "blowing up" cars v.s. real explosives; when they used explosives the biggest chunk of car left could be picked up in one hand:

Scrolling through that list all I see is california, canada...then I see that he's going to be in my hometown of Kansas City TOMORROW?!?!

If I didn't already have a job scheduled for saturday I would be there, camera-in-hand (sans $10 donation, of course).

Anyone else from KC feel like stopping by to ask Gage a few questions?

What questions would you ask him?

I was looking for some non-parallel shadows in the pictures to comment on for our moon-hoax proponent friends, but I couldn't find any. :(

Heh! Well, that photo is one that I took from a position where the fireball was coming toward me (from the location where we set off the charges) and because of the time of day and my position, there aren't really - to my untrained eye, at least - any obvious shadows, but here's one that was taken from an entirely different location, angle and perspective, which has a nice, big shadow for you to analyze. ;)

That is correct. We made and wired black powder charges to set off bags of gasoline and we actually deflagrated the same car three times on Sunday (but "blowing it up" sounds way cooler ~ hee hee).

Indeed. (This was a special effects exercise for a film rather than an attempt to obliterate a bunch of innocent bystanders and destroy the surrounding vehicles and buildings... :D)

I wonder how students can be charged for an on-campus event that doesn't have a band. :)
